I'm excited to announce the release of two new Baldur's Gate 3 mods!
The first is Mature Shadowheart, which gives her the wrinkles and grey hair she was sorely lacking in Larian's original design. As an added bonus, her jaw has been resculpted to better match her strong personality.
The second is Deep Voiced Shadowheart, a voice overhaul meant to be paired with the first. It corrects her overly feminine tone and really brings the character to life.

"Deep Voiced Shadowheart" = troonheart
Both on Nexus, ofc.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

So I just finished my playthrough. I enjoyed my time with DOS2 much more. What I would classify as a great experience is unsalvageable by the sheer amount of cringe imbedded into the game.

The negative things that come to mind:
Astarion is so ******* gay. I miss the Red Prince.
Karlach's immeasurable cringe - upon talking to her in camp after recruiting her, I reloaded 30 minutes back so I could give her the early send off she deserves
Lae'zel is so ******* ugly, I modded. That aside, her VA performance was amateurish. That fake husky sound she makes, ugh my ears.
"Refugees can do no wrong" - look they're poor tiefliings who LOOK evil but they are just all poor souls. There really was no better topic in the game to make morally complicated/ambiguous, but of course they went this route.
Ketheric Thorm/J. K. Simmons' underwhelming, or even bad, performance. Everything that came out of his mouth sounded like a first table read jfc.
Same composer as DOS2 but mostly underwhelming soundtrack. And in the shadow of DOS2, very disappointing.
Hope, god her performance reminded me of high school theater. I skipped most of her lines.
Yenna.
Awful final battle, I miss DOS2's epic 2 part final battle.
Buggy.

Some goods:
Gale, Elminster and Raphael were always a pleasure to listen to. Raphael especially, WOW.
I think sound design for attacks and stuff sounded really nice and punchy, the absolute pleasure I derive from landing the Glyph of Warding.
Lots of classes, more than my small brain can handle.
Camp system is fun.
Map design looks like he allowed lots of stealth solutions, which I did not take advantage of but still cool.

I would have regretted paying for this.

Is there a full guide for what mods are needed to de-pozz the game?
I would say (in order of Load Order as well:

AlbertHeinous' Better Baldur's Aesthetics (Whiter) which I usually find in the Compatibility tab here
viewtopic.php?t=1122-no-alphabets-3-6-1 ... r-s-gate-3

BBA Portraits for the matching portraits, though there are some that are missing for me it is better than not having it
viewtopic.php?p=45039-bba-potraits-1-2- ... ter#p45039

Character creator and polymorph deblacker
viewtopic.php?t=1264-character-creator- ... r-s-gate-3

NoRomanceMod (though I personally do not use it so I cannot be of much help, I highly recommend it. It has many options to keep romances in a certain way, or utterly remove them from the game. Particularly helpful for people hitting on you during celebration.)
viewtopic.php?t=1242-noromancemod-1-3-0 ... NO ROMANCE

No Alphabets for just about everything (remember to also get the CCreator thing to remove pronouns and other ******** from the character creator, and the pants replacer for Astarion)
viewtopic.php?t=1122-no-alphabets-3-7-0 ... alphabets

Lore Friendly Heads is a very good mod as well (though I personally manually replaced the offending heads)
viewtopic.php?p=48151-lore-friendly-hea ... e-3#p48151

Monochrome CC Portraits
viewtopic.php?p=43250-monochrome-cc-por ... e-3#p43250

I also recommend mods from this guy if one is playing as a Dwarf or the likes (Nexus warning, I can give the file if needed)
Dwarf Style Voice Preset for Tav (AI)
https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2130

If the Narrator also has to go, I recommend this mod Male Narrator Mod - CIV5
viewtopic.php?t=1432-male-narrator-mod- ... e narrator

And Wylls of Toril if also Wyll has to be changed (thank you Goblin_Hammer !)
viewtopic.php?t=1461-wylls-of-toril-2-0-baldur-s-gate-3

Hope this helps!

EDIT: Also! This mod here restores the idiocy that is removing race differences from the game
PHB Racial Ability Score (ASI) Revert
https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/578

There is much more I would recommend, but for a base sanitizer, this is what comes to mind.

Posting only the de-pozzing mods:

Mod NameDescription
No AlphabetsGets rid of LGBTQ NPCs and Troonism in Character Creator
NoRomanceModMake your Companions Straight Again
Better Baldur's AetheticsRemoves excess blacks and asian NPCs
BBA portraitsAdds proper portraits for BBA mod above.
Wylls of Toril Change Wylls race as you want.
Enver Gortash MalfoyMakes Gortash white instead of some ugly greasy hobo
Character creator and polymorph deblackerHumans in disguise/polymorph abilities and character creator are white again
Lore-Friendly HeadsMass head model replacer specially black and asian ones. I don't use it personally due to subjective nature of some changes. And I don't want to add to Larian's statistics.

I am so used they barely aknowledge race and appearance after Act 1 that that line felt like a breath of fresh air.
This reminds me, has anyone played act 3 with a race such as Gith, Duergar, Svirfneblin, anything other than human that is uncommon, and got any reactions? I was testing act 3 by playing a Dark Urge Drow and no one batted an eye, nor asked question of a DROW waltzing into the city unsupervised. I still fondly remember Ice Wind Dale 2's very first dialogue one gets after disbarking the ship where, if you play as a drow, they react much like those two tieflings at the beginning of act 1 ("Underelf!" "Blades high, Nymessa.").

You can never be degenerate enough for these types. The goal post will always be moved to greater and greater depths. Now this character is too young and too attractive, she has to be made older and deeper voiced!.

There's even some Svirfneblin in the city you can ask why they're there and they give you some speech on how it's totally normal and to stop being such a bigot or something. It's ridiculous.

Horrific. Thank you for the information, however much of a sad news it was. At least I know now that there is no point looking for depth like I thought there would be in Act 3 :( . Come to think of it, it's like the different acts are actually just a numbering of escalating "diversity" and alphabets. Act 3 being level 3, and the main hive of this scum. Playing Dark Urge and purging them has never been so tempting.

I keep seeing people posting screenshots and there's like a 40% chance their character has the exact same face as mine. I know they harvest the data and see that <1% of players pick the Bangladesh guy and Somalian woman presets. It would be ok if you didn't include them at all!

What the hell, thought they were supposed to be swimming in money from BG3 sales. Good chances it's fake though as you said.

But anyway, that'd be a deserved fate after making so many bad decisions over their main IP

I'd rather the Saudis buy it than the Chinese commies, if such a sale were to happen. The former bought SNK, why not D&D?. Women in burkas and no gay bear sex would be an improvement.

Nearly everyone vastly overestimates the value of D&D. WotC barely makes anything from it, sales are dismal and, much to the surprise of nearly everyone again, far below what they were under Gygax in the 80s. Adventures used to sell 50k-200k copies each, and that was when a dozen+ adventures were put out a year rather than maybe one. Dragon Magazine had over a quarter of a million subscribers iirc, and so forth.

BG3 probably made more in one year than WotC has made from D&D total in the past 10.

Internet, internet culture, and internet bubbles give a vastly skewed viewpoint towards D&D popularity giving many people the idea that D&D is more popular than ever. It's nowhere close to the juggernaut it once was. D&D was almost part of US school curriculum at one point but the deal fell through. Not as entertainment, but as part of understanding probability/statistics iirc. The only way it'd become part of a school curriculum now is if it was a video game to keep ******* entertained during their government daycare.

The deal doesn't include WOTC..?

That actually might be a better outcome. Let some Chinese company rake it for money without a shred of compassion or western political agenda, then layoff all the worthless trash at WOTC who isn't making Magic the Gathering cards.

In the early access there was some item in the hag's house that teleported you to a separate area. Dimensional portal or something like that.
Does anyone else remember this or have documentation of it? Pretty sure it's gone now. If I have to dig out an old early access copy to prove it exists I'll be ******.

No, there was a container item that when used would teleport you to a completely different zone. It was hidden in the hag's house, I couldn't find it in the release build.

So I've seen this referenced several times now:
You were supposed to find Minsc at the end of Act 1, and have him introduce you to Jaheira in Act 2.
Any info on that ? Would be amazing to mod it back into the game.

edit:
He actually has tons of lines that he would only say if you were playing as him from the very start. in this video:

Just a few I heard:

“Ship’s going to buckle, I need to get to the helm!” And “Let’s get to the transponder and get out of here!” As if he was on the Nautiloid.

“Isobel… isn’t that the name of the cleric at Last Light Inn?” And “Isobel’s sarcophagus… before Ketheric brought her back…”

There’s even lines for little things like when you are in the githyanki créche dormitory: “So githyanki sleep in beds just like us, Boo…”
