If there are bad parts in the game it doesnt mean its bad.
If there are more bad parts than good parts, game is bad.
And the entire superstructure of this game is bad, from root and stem to the pillars to the panels.

In any game that has a skill tree - or multiple skill trees, as we often see - respeccing is a crucial feature. Because honestly, with all of those abilities and numbers to consider, it's inevitable that we'll mess up somewhere. Most games that offer this don't let you do this as much as you want though, and make it cost something.
respeccing defeats the entire purpose of a game being an RPG and I'm tired of pretending otherwise

BioWare knows their audience. They respecc their characters as often as they respecc their pronouns.

Jesus H ******* Christ, this is Dustborn-tier, except on an ostensibly AAA+ level. It's so much worse than I actually expected, and I expected this to be bad.

Like I don't even know what to say. I have nothing to add, yet I feel an unyielding urge to speak up, but there're just no words.
If I was invested in this game in any way, I'd probably feel like I've lost my footing. I can't think of this game as anything other than "absolutely dysphoric".

This is completely DOA. Dragon Age girls (the primary demographic, Dragon Age is for women) have fully moved onto Pathfinder and Baldur's Gate 3. None of these options are appealing to anyone, even holes. Astarion mogs everyone but they aren't even trying to compete with this slop.

Lol, this game will make BG3 look like a very normal and straight game in comparison. Do you think mods can fix this crap? Hard to say.
Considering Inquisition, even modding companions' appearances will be difficult, let alone anything significant like dialogues or mechanics. But I'll be delusional enough to wait a month before I pirate this garbage—maybe something that Nexus would really dislike will get made.

Oh, I am feeling absolutely dysphoric alright. I have this pit in my stomach from simply seeing the screenshots and the webms.
This causes the same anger and disgust as the Fallout TV show did. I can only hope that the majority of people will be less ******** in their reception of this piece of brainrotted propaganda than they were with Bethesda's and Amazon's Fallout.
The hyped up anticipation turned into dread.

Sanity prevails at last!

Also I had another look at the game's cast. Who, exactly, is the target demographic for those romance options? Because the only even halfway decent looking person is the mage hunter dude. Everyone else looks like a tumblr caricature.

The devs even stated that this game is hardwired in a way that you're always with your companions all the time and you can't neither tell them to leave nor they can be permanently killed in-game. lol

Fextralife meanwhile is saying he was not given a review copy of the game because he didn't soyjak hard enough in the preview video. So only the shills were handed out review copies.

Let's check in on the reviews that gave it a 10/10
https://www.eurogamer.net/dragon-age-th ... ard-review
In many ways it is a game about them, your companions. Through them The Veilguard speaks to our hearts, and it's how the game approaches complex topics from our own world - topics like gender identity, neurodiversity, personal trauma, and parenthood - and each is handled gently and unobtrusively, and with maturity and care. Romance is of course part of the game, but I'm pleased by how restrained it is here, and how it refocuses relationships on the emotional side rather than being about trying to bang someone. I flirted with everyone for hours before committing to Taash, but no one was giving anything away easily.
https://checkpointgaming.net/reviews/20 ... -the-veil/
A special shout-out needs to happen here, as Dragon Age has once again done an excellent job when it comes to inclusivity and diversity, sexuality and gender. Again, I won’t go into too many details, as some of this stuff is truly stellar and best left unsaid. But, as a simple example, playing as a male-identifying protagonist, I was able to flirt with whomever I wanted; it didn’t always go to plan, but I had options across the board if I wanted to be gay AF (like IRL). I’m looking forward to experimenting more in future playthroughs, but in a real testament to the storytelling, I came to value my platonic relationships here just as much.

Each companion also has their own story arc. BioWare has made a conscious effort to become more inclusive regarding race, gender and other social issues. A few of their stories this time around will have a great impact on specific audiences, and it is great to see a company jump into these issues head-on rather than just making pronouns or including skin colour.

Yeah, and this game ranking lower than Starfield, a game even the normalfags find boring/bad, is quite an indictment.

Isn't Fextralife a terrible wiki website for a whole bunch of games that SEOs the living hell out of its AI generated slop articles? I didn't know it was a single guy who also reviews games.

Oh god, there are now gameplay videos on YouTube. Why, why do this to Dragon Age? I don't know if there is a god but there is definitely a Satan. There is no other way to explain this abomination.

The character designs look like a mobile game ****** Fortnite and they had a late term abortion. The characters sound and look so uninspired any AI trained with the design images would commit suicide. The writing, ****, the writing! It's so ******* pozzed and painfully modern I can't believe a sentient being wrote it.

This is worse than ME: Andromeda. Andromeda felt like a desperate rushjob. This feels like they're pulling a The Producers and deliberately made every bad decision in an attempt to sink the studio.

If you will excuse me, I need to drink.

And I likewise wouldn't be surprised if this does in fact end up as GOTY just like The Slop of Yuck 2 did back in 2020.

And immediately got attacked by journos for it saying it's not true, presumably without them even watching the video.

Fextralife contacted other press outlets and content creators after releasing their video when they played the preview(they were one of the content creators invited to an excloosive event to play the game early and make content.) Anyone who didn't megashill the game didn't get a key.

Between them the two(fextralife+twitter guy) have half a million views on their preview videos from the event, btw.

I always thought he just made videos about how to beat dork souls bosses, but apparently not. His video on the topic is near the top in the results.

In retrospect, Bioware killed DA already back then. DA:E has its moments, but the repetitive use of maps and the horrible writing for esp. Anders was really the first nail in the coffin. Oh, and enemies dropping from about 30 meters height down to street level and fighting. That was not so good, either.

I wouldn’t be surprised if reviewers like Mortisimal gave it recommended, I would lose all respect for him though.

Yeah. He's off the list of reviewers I will bother to listen to forever.
I wonder if he's a closet pegging enjoyer while wearing "his wife's" lingerie now, too.
Probably lost his objectivity because this was the first game someone gave him an advance copy of.

Given his minimum rating was always "good with caveat" there's not a wide range of options on that scale.
