I tried a demo a month ago. I was very disappointed because I like most of their other games.

I like this guy's channel, he doesn't get many views. He jumps right into games so you can see how they play, posts tons of content daily.

After watching some of the gameplay Rusty linked, I am thoroughly unimpressed. Was the artist paid to make the characters as ugly as possible? Because he succeeded. I kind of like the environment art though.
Eh, who knows. Game could definitely improve, but given how this usually works, I'll be dead by the time it leaves EA to even find out.
Related, sorta. I also had a lot of issues with their other game, Heroes of Steel. Clicking through UI, constant crashing, resolution changing on its own. I have never had those kinds of issues in any other game, before or since.

I've been following the development of this game for awhile. Like Rusty said, biggest turn off for me are the "modern audiences" hairstyles and **** everyone seems to have but the actual gameplay looks neat. This is one of those games I'm waiting to leave Early Access before purchasing though.

If you haven't played them, consider checking out some of their other games. IMO Templar Battleforce is their best.
They continue to provide regular updates to their games for years after launch, Heroes of Steel got a new character + storyline added almost a decade after its release.

Templar Battleforce is an AWESOME game. Might check out this new **** despite lame artstyle.

Needs a grid.
Nice to see a title in EA that's actually being worked on and on track.

These guys are still actively working on their last game, putting out (minimum) monthly updates that still include new things regularly.1998 wrote: ↑ July 30th, 2024, 02:31Nice to see a title in EA that's actually being worked on and on track.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

Yeah, whatever their artistic or design failings, their professionalism is admirable.
Has anyone played this recently? I tried the initial demo a year ago and was a little underwhelmed. I'm wondering if it's improved since then.

They post a lot, perhaps even too much tbh. I basically ignore every post since they come daily anyway.

Major Milestone: RETIREMENT - Massive End-Game Content Update
Major update today Knights, with our very first retirement storyline: "Daedelus Bloc!" This 10-mission storyline becomes available at Power Level[cyberknightswiki.tresebrothers.com] 6+, when a shareholder asks you to help them create havoc inside the Jupiter Group megacorporation.
This intricate power play is paced to give you plenty of time to engage with other late-game content, running heists on the side to build your warchest and grow your skills so you'll be ready to pull off the biggest jobs of your career at the very end.
It includes 2 brand new maps, new objectives, new additions to the proc-gen system, and is just the beginning of some very exciting new mission formats you'll see more of as Cyber Knights: Flashpoint continues to evolve.
We intend to add multiple retirement storylines to the game over time, staggered across multiple power levels to allow for playthroughs of different lengths and a variety of roleplaying choices in what kind of opportunity your Knight will give up their criminal power climb for, and who (if anyone) from their squad they'll share this escape with if they can.
How Retirement Storylines (or Death) Work

Retirement Storylines are pinnacle opportunities in your Cyber Knight's career, accessible only when you've built a rep as the Knight that gets things done. Multiple offers will give you the opportunity to get started on a chain of escalating missions leading to one last big heist that could get you out of the game for good.
Come out on top, and you'll have a window of time to decide (and complete any lingering unfinished business with your mercs or other contacts) if you want to take the retirement opportunity, or continue running the streets.
Some Knights can't give up the thrill of the heist, and will continue to play hard and fast until they go out in a blaze of glory. Others are convinced better opportunities will come, for either a better life offworld or with more room in the opportunity to set up the squad members they've become closest to with a better life as well.

When you retire or die, you'll get a series of game-end screens sharing what becomes of you and your squad members, a key stats & achievements summary, and your save-game will be memorialized so you can come back and export appearance or talent tree builds.

They just announced the launch date, it's in 3 days, 15th March. They were really playing it safe here. 15th May, I can't read.

Your squad members evolve as you play, shaped by your choices, their injuries, interactions, even their presence on some missions. Inspired by years of tabletop RPGs, our custom-built Casting Director story engine uses all this information to choose and place squad members and NPCs into world events and storylines it selects for you on each playthrough. Who will end up a betrayer, a friend in need, or the villain this time? Create new squads, discover new stories, and watch how your choices make it all fit together.
How does this work? Do the soldiers have actual personalities and backgrounds, with dialogue lines written by actual humans; or is it all proc-gen and everybody speaks with the same generic voice, but their stats and mission history determines the choices they make?

They say it's so they can take advantage of changes to Steam sale policy. Anyone know what the change was?
We're shifting the launch date so we can take advantage of a window that was not previously possible for us until a recent Steam launch-discount-cooldown rule change, and receive featuring from #TurnBasedThursdayFest, a games festival we've long supported that is about to have its best year yet!

We're also updating how Steam handles launches that happen in close proximity with our four seasonal sales. If your game releases close to a seasonal sale and you would like to have a launch discount extend into that sale, then you can choose a launch discount duration of up to 14 days. We cannot extend a launch discount beyond 14 days, so depending on when you released your game, it's possible that your game's launch discount may end prior to the end of the seasonal sale.
Generally, you cannot run a discount within 30 days of the release of your game or until 30 days from when the launch discount ends.
If your game launched at least 30 days prior to the start of the seasonal sale and DID NOT have a launch discount, then you are welcome to join the seasonal sale and enter a discount.
If your game launched 30 days prior and had a launch discount, then that discount cooldown DOES prevent you from joining the seasonal sale at the beginning. You can choose to join the sale already in progress by entering your discount for the seasonal sale once the launch discount cooldown ends (30 days from the end date of your launch discount). There are always future opportunities to put your game on discount, so you shouldn't feel pressured to change your release date for the sake of a seasonal sale event.

I will never clear my backlog so I'm always in favour of potentially interesting games being delayed as long as possible.
This comes out of early access tomorrow.
I'd be more interested if they hadn't put so much effort into making the characters look as gross as possible. This might be the only disappointing Trese Brothers game.

I liked the Trese Brothers' other games, specially the Space Hulk ripoff. I respected that they were grinding out their dream of being game devs and putting passion into their games. I am really disappointed on how the soldiers look and I really, really hope the game is not marred with woketard cancer. But, if the gameplay is good, then all is forgiven. Their games have always had that going for them, even if the art was never the strongest aspect.Acrux wrote: ↑ June 2nd, 2025, 03:03This comes out of early access tomorrow.
