I can't remember the last time I was genuinely excited by any of their announcements, and that's without the added stigma of just how ******* greedy and abrasive they are nowadays. It feels like post-2017, this company has done absolutely nothing worthwhile, and is resorting to vague nostalgia bait and cash grab re-releases that sell millions. In this hour long presentation, the only 'decent-ish' reveals were a new Yoshi game that isn't visually repulsive, a Dragon Quest VII remake, and a new Fire Emblem. Literally everything else was slop or announcements of ports.
If I was one of those suckers who bought a Switch 2 at top rate, I'd be feeling buyers remorse right about now. Despite focusing on a single platform, and despite having zero corporate debt and making more money than they even know 'what to do with', Nintendo is as lazy and as virulent as they have ever been. They're no longer that lone third pillar that's still making quality games that everyone can enjoy, they are just another Activision/EA/Ubisoft. But worse.
I will admit that Nintendo out of all the platforms makes consistent decent games ,however I’m going to wait for switch 2 games getting emulated because there no way in hell I’m paying $600 for a couple games I would play at most once. ( Exemption being Fire Emblem).
