You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

That piece of **** Bilbo had a fortunate deus-ex-machina moment with "What have I got in my pocket?", otherwise he'd be Gollum's meal.
Don't even get me started on the Smaug business.

I enjoy puzzles when they're just the right difficulty and actually fit into the world. When it's just some generic puzzle thrown on a door it's lame. When it's too hard it's frustrating. When it's too easy it becomes tedious. They're just way easier for a developer to get wrong than they are to get right.

Resident Evil has the best puzzles. Every corporation should use old fashioned keys, heraldic crests, and gewgaws just use the bathroom.

The fact that I was able to figure this puzzle out without looking at any guides proves that adventure games modify and warp the brain in terrible, unspeakable ways.

Puzzles should always be optional and should not be made for *******. Underrail is a good example how to implement them.

The only time I hate puzzles is when they're solved by specific items that unless you know what they are, are ostensibly trash.

Bonus points if said item is actually gray quality, and shows no signs of being for anything.

Seems to be a common trend in 'open-world' """"RPG's"""""

Or when there's so many puzzle items to so many different puzzles that you can't possibly hold them all, so you start dropping random crap and can't find all the pieces later on.

I hate puzzle items that are undroppable quest items even after you're done the quest. They're cluttering up my inventory.

I do like difficult puzzles if they are optional and have some of the best gear in the game behind them and accessible early game. But I guess they really dont put those in games anymore if everyone has the internet.

Would have expected you to use something more patriotic, like a buck knife ground down from a single solid crystal of iron pulled out of the wall of the Grand Canyon and seasoned in the rendered fat of its first kill.

I like puzzle games. Especially when they have multiple solutions (Opus Magnum), or they are well-designed (The Witness).

Not sure if I would classify what Adventure Games do as puzzles. Seems closer to finding a key for a door or a game of 20 questions.

yeah I think one I had to look up last time I played it, but not sure anymore if it was an optional one in that tower. Very frustrating if you wouldnt have internet. :headbang:

The mustache thing isn't as dumb as it seems. Their faces look nothing alike, so adding a big eye-catching trait to distract from the many small differences actually makes sense.
