Well, I think I'm done with ToEE for a while. I recorded my fight with Zuggy on the new party:
I played the new content and I
strongly recommend it, despite some qualms with it. The main thing is that the post Temple content does not have that "tight" feeling of ToEE, it's more like a power fantasy type of thing...until it becomes *** rape simulator. A lot of the content involves your party clearing out literal armies, which is a bit of a problem in a D&D ruleset. Simply put, fighting armies
doesn't work in D&D because regular grunts don't really do anything. Once an enemy can only hit you with a nat 20 or so, they become a mere speed bump. This isn't RTS where an infinite amount of zerglings can beat Colossi, in D&D the only units that count are those that are somewhat close to your level or higher.

That's not to say the combat content is uninteresting, since there are really good and tactical fights like
the slavers and the white dragon and the
defense of Hommlet is incredibly well done. It's worth noting that the mod content has TWO branching main paths, with different quests for good and evil parties. I only did the good path and I can confidently say all the "main quests" are high quality. All your fighting eventually amounts to one "final" battle that is...meant to be cheesed. Not sure how I feel about that one, but the path leading up to it is solid. Highlights include a whole new town that looks amazing, buying your very own castle, genociding NEW creatures not previously featured, like orcs and drow, using new spells from lvl 6 to 9 and CUCKING A DEMIGOD. Which results in a fight that is 100% ********, but that's to be expected I guess.
It's also worth mentioning there's new content that happens BEFORE you beat the original campaign, including a brand new (restored) area filled with Kobolds and Goblins that can work for lvl 1 parties eager to jump straight into action instead of playing peasant match maker. There's also a mini arena, brothel restoration, many new quests and so on. The new content even has its own ending slides for when you choose to retire from adventuring. Co8+ is one of those mods that might as well be considered a free DLC for ToEE.
