ToEE is VERY good, probably a more true adaptation of D&D than BG3 managed to be. I like turn-based combat. Perhaps because I'm getting old.

I played Keep on the Borderlands, the mod that was made for it, a while ago... that was an interesting experience. But I have not of gone through the base game with Temple+. Same with that IceWind Dale partial conversion. I would have loved to see more stand alone adventures released in the ToEE engine.

Me too. What wasteful idiots game companies are.
Few seem to get this idea.

Have you heard about the Paladin's Cove adventure recently created? It's being converted for Temple+ now.

Tim Gayn snuck the gay bertram in past the publisher's wishes, there's actually two bertrams in the game and you have to follow a very specific order to get the gay one.

There's two Bertram NPCs and the other one despawns depending on which you talk to first, the gay one is out of the way.

This says the ***'s the first one you meet. You have to pass him to get to the normal one.

On this episode of HQ users cope over a game they like having stuff in it that would make them decry a modern game as woke trash...

One secret perversion does not invalidate a game.
Especially such a moddable one...

You just need Temple+. None of the co8 patches/fan content is needed. Most Temple+ custom additions can be enabled/disabled. Temple+ is a partial rewrite of the game engine itself and many of the scripts.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/temple1

The creator of Temple+ does recommend installing co8, however:
Q. Does Temple+ contain all the fixes from Co8? Is it redundant to install both?
A. There many fixes in Co8 that are not present in Temple+. In that regard it is recommended to install both.
I believe there's a "fixes only" version, but I don't know enough about that.

btw, if you've already played ToEE and are looking for a theme/inspiration for a second playthrough, I recommend rolling a party that's built to take advantage of the following two excellent swords (Fragarach & Scather). It's a lot of fun.
