Another Comment:

Ledge grabbing / latter climbing / Running Jumps (AKA your jump gaining momentum from a sprint) are all now features of this 25 year old engine. We lost diving underwater for some reason but I expect all these things to continue forward into Elder Scrolls 6 which would be great.

(Running Jumps might of been in FO4, I don't remember now, but in Skyrim IIRC your jump would stagger your sprint momentum and you'd just sorta pause>stutter>jump.. I remember abusing the Dragon Shout that launched you forward because of this)

Another comment:

I'll assume the UC Vanguard are essentially the "Vanilla Ice Cream Fighters Guild" faction route for this game.. and if that's true the storyline is pretty **** good in comparison to what I usually expect from Fighters Guild shenanigans.

It's not even close to Oblivion Brotherhood tier.. but not too shabby.
You should consider completing the main quest before side-quests.
I don't like how they've done it, but I don't want to spoil anything.

Walk up to a pool table and pick up a pool ball for shits and giggles (Like hover holding it so I can bounce it around)

Immediately all the patrons in the bar start running away screaming, the bartender clips through the counter and starts chasing me but doesn't attack or say anything.. then 12 soldiers spawn outside the bar and start shooting me with laser guns. (I think the bar tender died from them.. he would just run up against me like he needed human contact)

Also this weird screaming ambient noise starts playing on repetition.. Cyberpunk AI.

I just hope they bug fix it.. This is pretty ****. We shouldn't need an AI overhaul Mod for this.
It is definitely funny though.

I'm glad Starfield barely has that many, less than FO4 and significantly less than Outer Worlds, but "found messages"/messages left on terminals suck and I'm tired of them.
If you want to put lore dumps in your game it should be mandatory that you at least voice it so I don't have to interrupt playing a game to read it.

I guess I'm going to have to turn in my Gigachad card because I got bored with this game pretty fast. Nigs and sassy girlbosses everywhere, endless trudging through menus, and ****** writing and melee combat.

Akila City looks amazing as well.. New Atlantis really got the short stick.

I love that each major city (and settlements) all sell different ship parts too.
So far I've seen a total of 5 different "hab families" that all give your ship unique interiors.

I'm too lazy but it's immediately noticeable.
When you walk into a store or building in New Atlantis it's ******* depressing.. just a counter with a single NPC standing behind it.. maybe a coffee table and a coat rack.. That Mars city is also kinda ****.. two taverns and they both are gay.

There's a store called "The Outback" in New Atlantis that shows this perfectly. What a pathetic store and you even need to eat a loading screen for it - why?

The Well / Akila city in comparison are super Kino though. Really great decoration / set dressing, lighting looks better, etc. Feel way more "lived-in".
I recommend visiting Akila City at night.

Until I can get a look at the files in the creation kit, I'm going to assert that citizens are definitely tied to the location. HopeTown is full of white citizens, and one mexican. They also aren't randomly generated, as I found two citizens and two clones of those citizens.
Which means they're probably just some prefab NPCs that can be easily altered using a mod.

I was reading a thread and it seems that creating custom landing zones is really easy even without the CK.

This game might actually be a modder's dream come true.. If you reuse assets already in the game you could technically start adding entire cities / outposts / quests to a ton of different planets for just a few KB.. Cell state data is super cheap.

Custom Assets & Voice Recordings for new NPC quests will bloat that a lot more.. but I see some real possibilities here - IF the community takes to the game.

Really, I'm still 50-50 on whether this game will get a serious modding community following or not.

When I say "serious" I mean relatively speaking..
Fallout 4 compared to Skyrim was kinda meh. Fallout 3 was even worse.

Also both Fallout games got a lot of inflated numbers off your typical "added a custom t-shirt" for the 9000th time type mods.. Which really don't appeal to me at all. I rarely am interested in random clothing / player homes.

The mods that really get me excited are ones that had significant systems / content / overhauls to the game and Skyrim just has more of those than really anything.. although Fallout 4 did get some really cool Sim Settlements & Custom Quest mods.

TL;DR - I hope Starfield gets a high quality modding community.. not just a buncha socks and t-shirt mods.

Oh so one like New Vegas had. Yeah them were the days....I made a custom mod with textures and custom worldspace you could not find anywhere now I lost it. Sad.

I mean I made every NPC in the game totally unique armor wise without repeating **** textures. Dragbody stuff mainly.

If anyone is curious how the game controls:
(There's no spoilers in the video)

Feels solid. Not floaty like previous games. Verticality is good. If you miss a jump, it's on you.
Also looks great most of the time, this video was taken at 66% scaling. Hope they work on the performance tho.

Weird, I wonder how they managed this.

It's not intentionally upside down, right?
I suppose someone could have altered the UVs without realizing it, or something.
im sure its not related, even tho vagina who did this was hired on soyfield

btw im starting to think you have poor standards where it comes to rpg games.

Good space tacticians know that humans need a sense of verticality in order to function coherently in combat.

Akila city might be one of the most aesthetically pleasing cities Bethesda has ever made.

All the Inns / Taverns have unique identities with a Western / City Lost in a Desert Canyon vibe. There's bookstores and wares shops with accents of stone / wood & futuristic and multiple rooms, upstairs & downstairs, beds, kitchens, bathrooms, etc.. It feels like it's in a different game than the other two cities (Mars & New Atlanta)

Unlike Niggerlanta, there's actually small homes / huts / tents all cobbled together in allyways and winding streets. People actually have places to live / sleep / cook and hang out.

In Niggerlanta everyone just sits around on benches then mills around the transit system before disappearing into the train. They tried to show a bustling city of people going to work and **** but it just looks like trash.
New Atlanta is Vivec. Akila is Balmora.
