No, jr. I remember Oblivion, and it's predecessor, which actually had love poured into it. No matter how hard you try and meme, Oblivion was a safe, soulless, cynical cash-grab.
Morrowind was garbage.
Your only reason for saying that is because people like it for being stranger than forgotten realms.
the only game that gave me immersion and feeling of alien wrold that morrowind did was subnautica. first one, not second trash.
not just cause it looks alien but conveys illusion of danger/opacity, with short render distance and rapid biome changes just like morrowind.

jewfield looks more plastic than f4.

Bugs I've encountered, any severity:

My character's head sometimes gets stuck looking in the direction of a quest marker. Looks funny tbh.
The ship builder UI is a bit buggy overall.
Had an escort for a quest not activate properly. I just ran to where the escort was going to take me and the quest worked fine tho.
The game is relatively bug-free as far as I can tell. I made a list to track bugs expecting to encounter a lot, and, yeah...

Side quests tend to be good, and generally of higher quality than previous beth entries.
Vertical exploration is a thing. Character controls significantly better than any previous bethesda title. You can climb up ledges.
Main story is eh so far. I'll see how that goes, I suppose.
Companions seem to have no way to control them at all. Wtf did they do here?

I rate it a solid youshouldpirateit/10.

I'll torrent it once all the updates and DLCs are released. No use wasting 93GB of space on a launch version of a Bethesda game.

@rusty_shackleford vindicated??
No, for the most part it's a 2D-ish skybox that you fly in. If you tilt your camera and fly towards a planet, you can see that you aren't actually moving towards it.
I've not done much outside of getting to the first zone. I hope it improves... quickly.

I am totally wrong. I decided to try this myself. You can fly towards planets, I went into free cam mode, it is a 3d ball with a texture on it, it's low res but it's there.
Okay, I spent the 20 minutes going towards a moon, you legit just pass through it

Yet to be determined how far this goes.. There could still be skyboxing / invisible walls.. but at least some of the planets seem to be actual 3D Models with low res textures.

This is obviously not the intended way to traverse the game, you are encouraged to abuse the **** out of fasttravel (not just for womholing, when you fast travel from a planet to it's moon, you don't warp drive, your ship just animates flying along in a time skip) - there's no telling how much freedom you actually have yet, need to test more / open the game up with the CK.

The question for me is: can you actually travel between 2 planets even if it takes an hour+ IRL.. If so that means at least galaxies are seemlessly connected, which won't change the current gameplay for 99% of players BUT what could mods do here.. this opens up a lot more possibilities than a tiny explorable cube with a skybox slapped on it.

EDIT
I should be clear before rusty jerks himself off, that the only confirmed statement right now is that in some cases you can fly right up to the moon / planet it seems, (and right through it because it has no collision??) - but the planets SEEM to be actual 3D Models with a low res texture wrapped around them.

This in theory means, new planets can be added through mods or maybe even FTL technologies could be added to ships to make seemless travel across galaxies an actual mechanic. Possibly. Maybe a DLC is already planned for that?

All speculative at this moment but I have a small glimmer of hope this game is 2% less ****.

"Sponsored by" is just a way to put an advertisement at the start of the game "AMD is awesome" so no matter how it runs, the ad is never going away. Job done.

Why the absolute NPC **** would a game sponsored by Razor keyboards play better with Razor keyboards?

Think. :Inspector:

It's different when it comes to computing/gaming stuff. It's like Nvidia sponsoring Elder Scrolls VI and when the game comes out it gets half the FPS of a Radeon. It's just strange.

Think New Atlantis purposely has NPCs skewed towards black. Akila/Neon seem to have less.

I disagree — it's just an advertisement. Every time you start the game you get that advertisement. No matter the quality, real or perceived of the product.

but that's not the case here at least: "Intel A is neck to neck with AMD A and Intel B beats AMD B".

Image

nobody getting half the fps of anyone and the re***tors are comparing CPUs.

Maybe it was the AMD graphics division that was focusing on this game, in which case focusing on CPUs would be even more stupid.

Don't think like a re***tor. They are literal *******

Is it going to be a retardedly long time before they release mod tools like Fallout 4 and Skyrim?
Skyrim's CS was out before the game, not sure about F4.
I doubt you're correct because I remember spending a while trying to figure out how to steal Nocturnal's dress because the mod tools weren't out yet.

The "Entangled" quest is very good. That's all I'll say.
Overall, quests are significantly better than FO4.

There's a pirate repack that's a 62gb download after cutting out the non-English languages and useless bonus content. Pirates have been doing that for many years, and I never understood why steam didn't let you just pick the language you want, it would save bandwidth.

So, do weapons have fixed damage? And armor fixed DR?
There also appears to be no level scaling on enemies, and apparently, items.

I'm not 100% sure.. but this seems to be the case.. I'm seeing ships way higher level than me and enemies way more lethal than I am used to in a Beth game.

Another point in Starfields favor TBH if it's true..

Started paying attention to the skin color of NPCs after seeing it brought up, only the randomly generated citizens seem heavily skewed towards black. Going to be funny if it's a bug, I want to see the patch notes.
