Gaygooners. There were hardly any female bg3 players during early access period. One of the writers, who happens to be a fat gay bear, likes Halsin a lot too.
the main romance writer was hired because she was writing ""fanfic"", including halsin material
Yeah, and she said Bear Halsin is symbolism for bear gay men or something like that.
The only good Halsin is dead Halsin.

Oh, and before I forget, a friend recommended this mod that added more elven subraces: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/10230 (though I believe that Sun Elves are officially a type of high elves? Or am I wrong in that regard?). While I like the idea of having more options, the default elves there sometimes look way to african. Especially the Sun elves, which have a copper tan but are still meant to be caucasian, is the biggest offender there. I mean, just look at their official art up until 2020:

If you have some time to spare, is there any chance you might consider making a submod for that mod that changes the default appearance of some of the elves? Only if you have the time of course, and if this is something you would like to do. I imagine you must be busy enough as it is, but I still wanted to ask just in case.
IF you download RR: Heads, it WILL automatically replace heads provided by this elven subrace mod.
It won't change skin selection or other nuances of the mod, so you might find that Sun Elves are still looking more like Chult Elves complexion-wise. But with Heads installed you won't see those people-of-colour faces.

Like I said, the book is not canon, so there's no point in getting your panties in a bunch over it. I personally consider it an authoritative source because it has three Baldur's Gate writers behind it, but the book doesn't present itself as such, and you can ignore it if you don't like it.
Except, what you actually said was this:
Hyborian wrote: April 23rd, 2025, 17:23

How did it ruin them? You realize this book was written by the original creator of the Baldur's Gate games, you stupid ******? Your playthrough isn't canon. Just because you played the game 20 years ago doesn't mean you know better than the original creator and get to decide what is and isn't canon. Most of what happens in the games is not canon to the official FR timeline, and this book isn't even part of the official WOTC 5e sourcebook line. It was published under the DMs Guild fan content brand and is basically non-canon.

You claimed that the people rejecting the faggotry in the book were in the wrong because their own playthroughs wasn't canon and made an appeal to authority by saying the book was created by the original creator of BG, who, in your own words, "knows better" than everyone else that played the game.

In your response to that you even double down on it by saying that you "personally consider it an authoritative source" meaning that you are agreeing with the faggotry presented in the book. So, it is actually worst than we thought. The book is non-canon but you consider it canon.

Finally, saying: "you can ignore it if you don't like it" is peak redditor faggotry. You are most definitely not beating the ***** allegations.

Can't say I've read all the epilogue notes, but the ones I did were lame and gay. Fanfic-level ********. Nay—fanfics can sometimes do better than that.
The epilogue is basically guaranteed to have 3-4 continuity errors unless you do the absolutely most basic canon playthrough imaginable.

Act 3 was clearly hilariously overambitious and if it got every plotline fully developed with the same level of reactivity and Early Access polishing as Act 1, the game would have released around 2035.

And not bother adding a bunch of pointless side quest padding to Act 3, that'd help too.

I like how the immediate response of r*ddit to this mod is to find a way to either flag, narq, dmca, or even DDOS this site just because some modders made something they don't like. It's embarrassing how open they are about discussing these tactics too.

I have a few screenshots from the grove in Act 1 I'd like to share, just a few of the changes to the tieflings that I really like  they feel more like refugees and demonic humans now.
► Show Spoiler
And I absolutely adore the changes to Jeorna and Alfira! Alfira looks like she actually belongs with the other tieflings. I didn't like her original game design, she felt more like someone's lesbian OC than an actual NPC.

I'll be posting more as I get through the game  I'm really looking forward to Act 3 with Realms Restored. That's when I stopped playing before. I got serious heebie-jeebies from Halsin and the drag ****** :notsureif: I saw Ligrev and DagothGeas5 post about Halsin in Act 3, I'll be making full use of those spoilers, thank you.

I swear some kind of weird pedo designed the vanilla... almost naked halflings for shadowdruids? WTF!!!???

Concept art and ingame characters literally had nothing in common  .

Wait, they actually had that concept art for the Shadow druids? That is WAY better than the nonsense they have now. Whose idea was it to change that? Did Wizards of the Coast implement that as well as the Body Type 1 and 2 and genitelia nonsense? Because none of the latter was in the alpha, where you also still had ability score increases based on race.

note the artist is a romanian, likely not one of their core team

Oh? You mean the "heads" file (one of the 6 mods you have to use to completely overhaul BG3) automatically does that?

That's great! Honestly, this is a huge help :)

I would still love it if someone could make a simple mod that makes the Sun Elves look less like "Chult Elves" in character creation, as the idea of non-caucasian elves (not counting half elves) is just silly to me. As well as cultural appropriation. Heck, even the Japanese do itbetter, and just make some of them have a tan at most or make them dark elves as a distinct race. They have a lot more respect to the original source material, as opposed to the racist woke leftists who hate anyone who is white and who doesn't agree with marxist dogma.

It's a pity that the core creators of the game seem to be decent people who like the actual hobby, while many around them are just virtue signalling soy boys. I love supporting Larian studios above all the other AAA slob companies that are even more infested with woke nonsense. But that doesn't mean I turn a blind eye to their anti-european sentiments. I guess the future of games will have to be decided to eastern europe (and Russia), as well as asia. As they are killing it right now, and even "decent" companies like Larian studios have been infected by woke elitists with delusional believes.

Though the worst part is the hypocricy: "Making everyone in a medieval europe inspired setting all black or diverse = good, but making it more authentic by making people look all caucasian = bad". However, if the setting was African or Asian, they would have no problem with making everyone belong to one race. Well, unless you are Ubisoft, and you make one of them look black while being able to slice open civilians without punishment (which up until the last Assassin's Greed game would implement penalties). Ironically, the same kind of people whining about "cultural appropriation" when a white person wore a kimono or samurai outfit for halloween, now have no problem culturually appropriating european culture, as well as fantasy that is heavily inspired by european mythology.

They always accuse others of that which they are guilty themselves. Every **** time. Often intentionally to cause confusion, as described in the leftist book: "Rules for Radicals" from the 70's.
