Last time I played this I made a mod for it, has various stuff. Also has a cheat-free faster movement on the world map, it increases the game time speed rather than your character's speed so the same amount of time is taken overall. Has an option to highlight things thru walls for those that play in isometric mode because some things are completely obscured by the walls. etc.,

How did I get this picture?

NEUTRON mod
clickable link to ModDB
(NeutronT is the version for the Trudograd sequel)

Highly recommended for any playthrough!
It's quite customizable as well. RTFMS!!!

( and don't forget to put the 0Harmony.dll into the game folder ATOM RPG\AtomRPG_x64_Data\Managed, which is NOT where you put the mod (RTFMS for that), because the instructions are a bit vague on that point )
This is just cheating.

It was a deliberate design choice to not show skill checks, that's how it works in Fallout.

Also I think I used a mod for right click for context menus instead of click and hold… iirc?

tip: you can issue commands to your allies in combat, I don't know if the game tells you this

Yeah, I don't agree and really don't care if you think it is. Without it, you have no idea if you're close, or way short.
There's no benefit to the player except to be able to see that he might be as little as a few points low, information that the character would be able to intuit most of the time.

If you don't want it, please feel free to change this line in the mod settings to 0 (zero) instead.

No. It's more like Baldur's Gate movement mechanics, except you may rotate as you like, and zoom the camera slightly.
(Zooming is much improved with Neutron mod!)

I also modded the **** out of Underrail. :eyebrows: Well, CheatEngine hacked it, but still...
People like you on their Discord also said I was playing the game wrong for doing it. Except they like Underrail. Only difference I can see between you.

For the record, I ALSO modded Fallout.
Although I prefer to play it using the mod that lets you play Fallout in Fallout 2's engine. Because I can mod it MORE.

Is there some crafting use to the microchips or can I truly just sell them?

I don't remember any use for microchips so I think it's safe to sell them. Their weight to price ratio is bad though so I just ignored them most of the time.

GODmetric mode on :smug:
I don't know if my mod I linked on the prior page works, but it was made specifically for the isometric mode because it obscures some interactables as the game wasn't originally designed for it. I'll see if I can get around to checking it later tonight. :turtle:

BTW, the 'isometric' mode actually is isometric, it does not use Fallout's camera angles. Let me see if I can dig up my comparison screenshots from Trudograd of what FO angles would look like. Fallout used a very low angle dimetric camera. Isometric was only used in a handful of 'isometric' games.

As far as I remember they are only needed In Trudograd for one achievement: finding the secret KGB bunker.

Trudograd 'isometric' option modded to use the actual Fallout camera angles they used for rendering.

Going to show this one first because it becomes so obvious to see the parallels between it and Fallout's angles due to the similar camera positioning. Indeed, a much lower dimetric camera creates a very different perspective than an isometric one.

Here's the rest:

Trudograd is a very pretty game.

And a quote from me at the time:
it took me entirely too long to realize how open-ended the item-use mechanic is. You can even use it to get people drunk/high to reduce their awareness to make them easier to steal from. I'm the good guy!

And before anyone asks, I suspect they didn't use a low angle because the game simply isn't designed for it. Anytime you go indoors(as in, an actual indoor area in an outdoor zone), it becomes very hard to see anything.
I was going to adjust it to move the camera up when you go indoors but I never finished it.

Indeed, it is even possible to use ciggies (a lot of them so it's better to gather them beforehand) to kill NPCs without alerting others.

I keep seeing "+__ to Stealth" on some items, yet I have not noticed any "start to stealth" key, so I wanted to ask, is the skill just for being noticed for pickpocketing in some way? Wouldn't that be covered by the pickpocket skill? Or does it also cover that people don't notice you picking items up from cabinets etc in some way?

There's a decent WIKI

https://atom-rpg.fandom.com/wiki/ATOM_RPG_Wiki

The answer to your question: https://atom-rpg.fandom.com/wiki/Stealth

"Stealth is a passive skill, so it is always active.
The player does not need to activate a "stealth mode" to use it.
One of the rare non-combat skills that have utility for companions, as their stealth is also factored in for enemy detection.
Only player stealth matters for theft, however."

"Allows the player to loot owned containers without the NPC reacting.
Also makes it harder for enemies to spot the player.
Pickpocketing thus requires both Stealth and Pickpocket.
Lockpicking owned containers requires both Stealth and Lockpick."
