at an internal wotc studio now
Does WotC even have the necessary money to fund the development of a game like BG3?

Not unless Hasbro gives them a budget, no.

The WOTC **** have shown themselves to be deathly afraid of people pirating their new books due to their need for sales to survive.
(Examine that for a moment and imagine how ******** they are to think that people even want their ****** corrupted versions...)

I assumed as much. IIRC they're working on that digital dungeon master thing they're repurposing Larian's tools for, but that's less a game and more a glorified (and likely, highly limited) editor, though Larian did **** them over by intentionally doing a really ****** job at locking down the BG3 editor, so I'm not sure who would even bother with that.

I imagine the BioWare ***** is working on one of their ****** books.

LinkedIn estimates that Skeleton Key has around 50 employees at the moment and they were formed in 2022. A-game budget, not much more than that so far.

I read somewhere yesterday that modern young Bioware employees apparently hate that they are seen as a "story game company". They wanna be making different kind of games but going that much against customers' expectations was not allowed by their decision-makers so they're all stuck doing what they hate, surfing the wave of reputation earned by their actually qualified predecessors

WTF do they want to make? A male homosexual dildo crafting and testing simulator?

Seriously, though, why apply at Bioware if you don't want to make Bioware style games?
The ******* entitlement on leftist millennials...

Idk, "story game" sounds precisely like the kind of **** that games like Life is Strange normalized, the type that gives you the option to skip the motherfucking gameplay and just watch the whole game like a film.

These last AAA slops have been the wetdreams of theater kids, so if a young game dev wants to make something different then my first assumption is that he may want to make an actual game, not a playable movie.

It's not supposed to mean that.

Seems likely that the ****** who lead the development of this is leading the development of bg4 at an internal wotc studio now :)
******* vomit inducing news. Thanks, I hate it. Another IP getting shittified again.

After Warlocks of the **** are done with BG4 we'll probably look back at trash fires like Aylin with fond memories.

I think at this point it doesn't even matters if Larian will work in BG4 or not, we all know for a confirmed fact that BG4 will be even faggier than even Dilatation Age because "our rebellion against Orange Man! Hur Hur!" it's not an if it will super flop but rather how much it will flop in comparison to Failguard.

Rumor is, the game is already cancelled. Do not know what happened with the *****-director but there is hope he got fired as well.

I couldn't finish this video.. this youtuber is so annoying to watch but what I did see actually proves the opposite of what you said. They cancelled some horror game to focus on a secret project called "Dante" which is the DnD franchise game..?

Wouldn't that mean they fired a buncha people so bush's project could get funded?

You are right. Guess the logic here (Smash's - ant then my after watching) was that CB joined Sceleton's Key. Sceleton Key is in trouble - with their "before Busche game" cancelled and layoffs starting. Hasbro and WotC have been in bad shape lately on all fronts. It is also known that in 2023, WotC canceled at least five unannounced games. With later anti-woke rhetoric on top of it all, there is hope that CB's project - whatever it is - will be cancelled as well simply for the lack of finance.

But true, you never know how much money a given corporation can suddenly decide to burn.

I'm almost tempted to subscribe to Playstation Plus just for the pleasure of cancelling immediately.

There are other positive developments too: the shilling and toxic positivity that shielded this train wreck has now rotted away even on Reddit. Even the trooned out powermods had to eventually bow to the overwhelmingly negative reception of the game. All their boot licking is all for nothing now.

To be fair, at least this would probably be an original game with a clearly defined target audience, rather than an attempt to hijack an existing franchise and steer in a direction your existing audience doesn't want.

Uhmm, .... no, thanks. Neither 50% nor 80% or for that matter even if they should give away the game for free is this "game" of any interest, thank you. :P

What's going on with all of the peg-legged Indian women lately? One is going to be the protagonist of the new Avatar cartoon.
