Another Real Time Tactic game is releasing in 4 days. Set in an 18th-century Spanish Monastery. Could be decent
There is a demo available...
It's ****.
looks like it sold 7 copies, can't wait for them to appear in the developers fired thread!

Hard to believe that this is the same studio who made Blasphemous.
Apparently EA is shoahing BioWare. I'm not sure if they fired all but 100 employees, or just transferred the clowns elsewhere, but the studio has been gutted.

I didn't post this into the firing celebration thread because of the other news:
- Mass Effect will continue. The studio is now fully focused on developing the next Mass Effect game
- The game is under leadership by a core team of veterans from the original trilogy
- Led by Michael Gamble, executive producer going back to Mass Effect 2
- Game Director: Preston Watamaniuk is a 24 year veteran and was lead designer on the Mass Effect trilogy, KOTOR, and Neverwinter Nights 2
- Art Director: Derek Watts was art director on the original Mass Effect Trilogy
- Creative Director: Parrish Ley was lead cinematic and presentation animator going back to Mass Effect 1
- Narrative Director: Mary DeMarle is helming the story and was lead writer on Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, as well as Eidos' Guardians of the Galaxy
- The studio is "taking this opportunity between full development cycles to reimagine how we work at BioWare
Lots of has-been ******* here. The one I am most interested in is Mary DeMarle - on the one hand she presided over the whole "Agus Live Matter" debacle and filling Prague with *******, on the other hand I have heard that the Guardians of the Galaxy was positively received by the public, many saying that it had even better writing than the movies, so I'm not sure what to make of her.
I don't really think that bringing in all these former auteurs is going to help any, since the vast majority of them are likely just as deranged as the BioWare workforce they are replacing.
That was a lot of nonsense corpo speak."Running towards the future and preparing for the next chapter of BioWare's story"
"hold ourselves to the highest quality standards"
"fierce commitment to innovating"
"challenged ourselves to think deeply"
"reimagine how we work at Bioware"
"become a more agile, focused studio that produces unforgettable RPGs"
It won't. As seen with ex Blizzard devs who left to go form their own studios, almost all of them didn't produce anything notable, except for Guild Wars and Torchlight.gerey wrote: ↑ January 29th, 2025, 22:21I don't really think that bringing in all these former auteurs is going to help any, since the vast majority of them are likely just as deranged as the BioWare workforce they are replacing is.

Yeah, that's usually the case with these industry veterans. Remove them from the studio where they rose to fame and it turns out that a game being great is a collaborative effort.Val the Moofia Boss wrote: ↑ January 29th, 2025, 22:28It won't. Well, that is that.
It's also an atheist take, because it denies that God's work is perfect.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ January 28th, 2025, 17:29"gamedevs should stop making games with realistic graphics" is a peak redditor opinion
80%+ of games that come out now, and I mean the ones with any sort of budget too, are "stylized". Graphics peaked a decade ago, 1 in 2 games look like a fortnite clone.
Mediocre at best and that’s being very generous.gerey wrote: ↑ January 29th, 2025, 22:21

Sniper Elite 5 and Resistance has a Axis-Sniper mode where you basically dark souls invade players and try to kill them.Breathe wrote: ↑ January 31st, 2025, 00:58Are there any sniper games that aren't killing nazi's and are actually fun?

there's a 'Sniper Ghost Warrior' series from Polish developers. They are basically Far Cry clones, but with sniping mechanics.Breathe wrote: ↑ January 31st, 2025, 00:58Are there any sniper games that aren't killing nazi's and are actually fun?
Cartoon-based games of that era tended to be more visually creative. Pretty neat.DagothGeas5 wrote: ↑ February 2nd, 2025, 02:44@rusty_shackleford I recall there being a conversation about interactive game menus (where you can click on different parts of the screen and they will react). Forgive me if it was not you that started the conversation that I recall, I might be recalling wrong, but in case I am not: I was adding more items to my list of games and it came to mind that this one has an interactive menu and UI.
The game in question is called "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride". The menu of the game is a sort of interactive hub with a lot of these small interactive actions (time-stamped as the guy showcases the menu in question).
(The guy clicked these only once, but they all have different outcomes. The spider, for example, will weave different shapes in its web, two that I recall being the Disney Castle's silhouette and the Mickey Mouse symbol, while clicking the waterfall can also display Timon and Pumbaa going down at full speed on a wooden raft).
If my memory got something mixed up and no one asked, do forgive me for the out of the blue mention XD I hope it is at least midly interesting![]()
