**** that looks nice and great that he is going for the obvious weak spots of the original.gerey wrote: ↑ January 4th, 2025, 22:16
Dev does a fairly good job of explaining what he's doing with the project.
He's shared a few more details about what he plans to do concerning the gameplay. He's mainly focused on improving the interface, particularly the inventory management, and the combat, with plans to make the combat turn-based so it's actually not a complete clusterfuck and you can actually strategize and make meaningful choices.
I also like this perspective more, somehow I could never get into u7s, always felt a bit weird to me.

So apparently Notch - the creator of the OG MineCraft back in 2009 - said that he's working on MineCraft 2 in a tweet that was low-key throwing shade at Microsoft. lol
He's someone who sold his original game at a price that pretty much set him for life so I doubt he's making this new game for more money, which is turn also means that the likes of Larry Fink can't coerce him with money to add woke **** into any new game he makes.
That said, of Notch himself is a progressive **** then I expect MineCraft 2 to somehow have woke **** in it that was added by Notch's own free will.

Too bad both Ultima VII's worldmap and gameplay suck ***.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

If he is indeed pulling off a competent combat system, that would already be a huge improvement gameplay-wise, big if obviously.Rand wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2025, 04:45That's interesting.1998 wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2025, 02:43**** that looks nice and great that he is going for the obvious weak spots of the original.gerey wrote: ↑ January 4th, 2025, 22:16

I'm skeptical of this because back in his heyday the guy was notorious for taking long vacations, and when he got his big payday from MS his productivity cratered to 0. It's easy to talk about something you want to do, hard to actually do work when you don't have to.UltraFan123 wrote: ↑ January 5th, 2025, 03:20So apparently Notch - the creator of the OG MineCraft back in 2009 - said that he's working on MineCraft 2 in a tweet that was low-key throwing shade at Microsoft. lol

https://www.gamefile.news/p/call-of-dut ... rn-warfareCall of Duty's massive development budgets revealed: $700 million for Black Ops Cold War
The biggest development budgets ever disclosed by a game company, buried in a court filing (but found by Game File), along with updated sales figures.
In a court filing reviewed by Game File that has not been previously reported, Patrick Kelly, Activision’s current head of creative on the Call of Duty franchise, said that three Call of Duty games, released between 2015 and 2020, cost $450-700 million to make. The disclosed totals are the highest development costs ever reported by a major video game company—and top just about any that have ever leaked or been estimated by analysts. By comparison, a poorly redacted court filing in 2023 from Sony pegged the development cost of the company’s marquee 2020 game The Last Of Us Part II at around $220 million. That number was considered huge when it leaked.
Here are the Call of Duty development costs from Kelly’s filing, which Game File has reviewed:
The above breakdown is based on a declaration from Kelly filed to a court in California on December 23. It is part of Activision’s response to a lawsuit filed against the company last May regarding the 2022 school shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. The Uvalde suit, which was filed in May 2024, partially blames the massacre on Meta’s Instagram and Activision’s Call of Duty, saying the company’s platforms and content influenced a teenager to commit the mass shooting that killed 19 students and two adults. The three games for which Kelly cites budgets are among those that the survivors say the school shooter avidly played.
- Black Ops III (2015): “Treyarch developed the game over three years with a creative team of hundreds of people, and invested over $450 million in development costs over the game’s lifecycle.” (Kelly also discloses that it has sold 43 million copies.)
- Modern Warfare (2019): “Infinity Ward developed the game over several years and has spent over $640 million in development costs throughout the game’s lifecycle.” (41 million copies sold)
- Black Ops Cold War (2020): “Treyarch and Raven Software took years to create the game with a team of hundreds of creatives. They ultimately spent over $700 million in development costs over the game’s lifecycle.” (30 million copies sold)
Frames are going to get more and more fake for the rest of my life. Starting to fear death less.

it's not just development, licensing costs a lot too. CoD's been doing a lot of crossover **** and IP collaborations, I assume Activision had to pay hefty sums to hire celebrities and buy rights for the various famous characters so they could appear in CoD multiplayer bundles.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ January 7th, 2025, 12:22What the **** do these studies doing that there spending half a billion dollars in dev cost.
Someone should post a picture of the CoD dev team, the racial and gender makeup should explain why the game almost cost a billion dollars.

Not surprising. They been insider sources that developers/ publishers are very much not dropping the progressive agenda ,but are just going underground and being as public with their true goals.
