True, Harding is so far the only redeeming thing about veilguard. Any idea if any of the companions still try to hit on whoever you are dating?
(Neve is also fine so far, haven't heard much that was cause for audible cringing, except maybe her raspy voice and lack of tits)
Yes. Neve and Lucanis start a romance if you're not romancing either of them. Multiple people that tried to romance Lucanis said that he still flirts with Neve and that he has more chemistry with her than with the player character.
Neve's character flaw is that she's boring as ****, which is exacerbated by her VA who hilariously sounds like a ******, despite being an actual woman. Physically Neve is ugly by the virtue of being a pajeeta. The hooked nose and soulless black eyes combined with weird almost green in some lighting skin color make her unattractive. She's not as repulsive to look at as Traash, but she's far from being conventionally attractive.
I'm playing in German so I only know the ****** sounding voice actor from videos and from you.

Neve has a very pleasant voice in the german version. So far everyone has pretty good voices.

****, her voice is so much better than the english man-voice she has.

I like to play games set in real places (or their fantasy analogues) with that country's dub when possible, i.e. Assassin's Creed 2 in Italian, AC Unity in French, Witcher games in Polish, etc. It helps immersion and not knowing the language kinda helps if the voice over is of lower quality.
That said the Polish dub of Witcher is just outright better than English.

English Geralt VA is far superior to the Polish one.

English Geralt sounds like a discount version of Nolan's Batman. He has no range and can't act for ****. Nothing but grovel-gargling monotone.
Polish Geralt can actually emote and does intimidating and sarcastic and can even do lighthearted. The ghost possession segment in the Heart of Stone DLC proves that, as the VA sounds like two different people. English Geralt doesn't change his voice at all, because he has to do a gruff tough guy impression instead of using his regular voice.

Agree. I hated that ****(le) gargling **** so much I switched to German and didn't regret it. Very nice voices.

It's a long video but should give you all the voices you might wanna hear.

IGN published an article ******** on veilguard
https://www.ign.com/articles/dragon-age ... ith-itself

IGN previously gave Veilguard a 9/10, which would imply it's one of the best games ever made.

I would have more respect for IGN if they double down in the shilling.

It's a parody of Dance till you're dead remix from years ago:

It's probably not in the game, but dev-animated "bloopers" akin to stuff Ubisoft used to make:

I'm not sure the models have been ripped from the game for fan-made animations yet and, frankly, I don't think Dragon Age in general is big enough to have such things made, nevermind the Veilguard. Mass Effect has thousands of Gmod/SFM shitposts, but Dragon Age has never been as popular as Mass Effect.

(unrelated to him purposely picking the worst options)
lmao those choices
"hmm… who should I send with the wardens… maybe… a gray warden?"
"oh and… the crows… maybe the antivan crow??"

I was going to bash it for treating the player as a 5 year old, but considering the target audience maybe they got it right

Apparently as of Jan 11th, Dragon Age has passed the 1 million sales mark.

Current estimates based on "LEAKS" of the budget of this game is around 240 - 300 million dollars to develop.
Reportedly they would need roughly 4-5 million sales to break even.

This seems entirely reasonable from what we know of how long it was in development and the development team size.
Anything below $250m would be insane.

So they earned less than 70 millions against a ~275m budget and they're being demolished by a Farming Simulator. Seeing these numbers makes my hopes be at all time high for the shift to finally happen. If this period in our history doesnt show the general population that wokeism is cancer then nothing will.

Doesn't matter much. They will soon be moving to another game to shill and this will be forgotten. Pretty sure half of HQ will be dead before we see another Dragon Age

Running heavy equipment is a lot of fun though, so I am not surprised why there is interest in doing it within a game.

I just wrote a paper on "simulator" games. Specifically simulator games, surely not role-playing games. To a conference next year on AI, because this is apparently prestigious.

Everything else is apparently not serious, not prestigious.

My paper might still get rejected because it contains the phrase "open world" at least twice, suggesting that it is really about "fun" games. I should have rather said it about very boring, boring games. More serious (read: not fun) games like advanced forklift simulator. Advanced grocery store clerk simulator. Synthetic rubber manufacturing simulator.

Edit. Should have said "magical girl heavy armor knight on the job training simulation with abstractly quantified progress indexes" rather than "open world", more serious. Higher chance of being accepted.

Edit. So "gatcha" should be...complex stochastic simulation of resource-based norms as a proxy toward the better "simulation" of virtual multiple-marriage theories.

That whole exchange reminded me of a thought I’ve had for a while now.

Why are there female Grey Wardens? Given what Darkspawn do to female captives (and if I remember correctly they go out of their way to capture women alive for that very reason) it stands to reason that any female Warden going down to the Deep Roads on her Calling would just be adding another Broodmother to the hordes. The Joining infects you with the Taint and just as a Warden can sense Darkspawn, so too can Darkspawn sense Wardens in turn. Like I get that maybe after a couple centuries the Wardens need to cast as wide a net as possible when recruiting but even with that, having women undergoing the Joining seems foolish and counterproductive.
