'Russians don't buy software' is an outdated stereotype, they are paypigs as hell. Like, you can visit some russian gaming site, and ppl there would brag about buying and 100%ing Veilguard.

Kinda sad how they inverted, and now they brag about throwing money away.wndrbr wrote: β November 15th, 2024, 00:41'Russians don't buy software' is an outdated stereotypes, they are paypigs as hell. This is the saddest news I've heard in a while.
We need to save russia.
The war has drained the population of its best men, now all thatβs left are ******* like Warlockracy
Faceless_Sentinel wrote: β November 14th, 2024, 22:17If only you knew how wrong you are. Here in russia we have several generations of people who can't pirate games and software! They don't know how and believe that it is hard to install cracks or "there could be a virus"! I promise you, in russian part of youtube you can find video guides how to use torrent and they are new!
I feel this sort of tech illiteracy may be universal. Young people in the US don't seem to get it, either. I've tried showing my cousin how to torrent anime several times and he still pays for streaming services.wndrbr wrote: β November 15th, 2024, 00:41'Russians don't buy software' is an outdated stereotype, they are paypigs as hell. I don't understand this pricing scheme.Roguey wrote: β November 14th, 2024, 20:33MS just dropped the price, it's $70.
Even more insane is the regional pricing https://steamdb.info/app/2457220/
Like what the ****, do they want Europe in its entirety to pirate it?

Why are they especially gouging Poland, of all of Europe?
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Looks like EU "fines Valve and five publishers of PC video games β¬ 7.8 million for βgeo-blockingβ practices". Is it for regional prices or?Rand wrote: β November 15th, 2024, 10:40I don't understand this pricing scheme.Roguey wrote: β November 14th, 2024, 20:33MS just dropped the price, it's $70.

Slava Ukraini.
Sooner or later they will all crawl back to Russia. But there will be no loud and proud announcements made.Faceless_Sentinel wrote: β November 14th, 2024, 21:31Would you look at this:
Both regional price and translation, everything is in place!βΊ Show Spoiler
But how about:
https://blogs.microsoft.com/on-the-issu ... -conflict/
What is happened with "microsoft stand with ukraine"?Like the rest of the world, we are horrified, angered and saddened by the images and news coming from the war in Ukraine and condemn this unjustified, unprovoked and unlawful invasion by Russia.
I want to use this blog to provide an update on Microsoftβs actions, building on the blog we shared earlier this week.
We are announcing today that we will suspend all new sales of Microsoft products and services in Russia.
In addition, we are coordinating closely and working in lockstep with the governments of the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom, and we are stopping many aspects of our business in Russia in compliance with governmental sanctions decisions.
We believe we are most effective in aiding Ukraine when we take concrete steps in coordination with the decisions being made by these governments and we will take additional steps as this situation continues to evolve.
Our single most impactful area of work almost certainly is the protection of Ukraineβs cybersecurity. We continue to work proactively to help cybersecurity officials in Ukraine defend against Russian attacks, including most recently a cyberattack against a major Ukrainian broadcaster.
Since the war began, we have acted against Russian positioning, destructive or disruptive measures against more than 20 Ukrainian government, IT and financial sector organizations. We have also acted against cyberattacks targeting several additional civilian sites. We have publicly raised our concerns that these attacks against civilians violate the Geneva Convention.
We are also continuing to mobilize our resources to help the people in Ukraine. Our Microsoft Philanthropies and UN Affairs teams are working closely with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and multiple UN agencies to help refugees by providing technology and financial support for key NGOs and, where needed, we are defending these groups from ongoing cyberattacks.
As a company, we are committed to the safety of our employees in Ukraine and we are in constant contact with them to offer support in many forms, including those who have needed to flee for their lives or safety.
Like so many others, we stand with Ukraine in calling for the restoration of peace, respect for Ukraineβs sovereignty and the protection of its people.
Because everyone hates Polacks, that's why.Rand wrote: β November 15th, 2024, 10:40Even more insane is the regional pricing https://steamdb.info/app/2457220/

Well, that Russian correction was fast.
I'm guessing Russians who pre-ordered got an automatic refund?

In steam usually no, you can't access game store page content or buy DLC, but purchased game added to your library and you can download and play it. At least this how it was in 2022 and 2023.Roguey wrote: β November 15th, 2024, 11:48Well, that Russian correction was fast.I'm guessing Russians who pre-ordered got an automatic refund?

It depends on a publisher. Some are petty enough to demand Valve to do a mass refund, some just let it slide. There were cases when people were able to keep games bought for obviously wrong price (like Dark Souls for 7 rub), and cases when the publisher forcibly took the purchased games away from you and refunded the paid price into your steam wallet.

Yeah, I don't care. If your business is in USA, you shouldn't be allowed to charge US citizens more for the same product.Faceless_Sentinel wrote: β November 16th, 2024, 06:40https://mailchimp.com/resources/geographical-pricing/rusty_shackleford wrote: β November 16th, 2024, 06:35An american store charging americans more for the same exact product should be illegal btw

Most games you can still buy with same deep russian discount, you just can't buy AAA LGTV slop that you wouldn't buy anyway. Steam prevented bank cards not from the same region from funding accounts long before war.rusty_shackleford wrote: β November 16th, 2024, 08:02I used to buy games at deep russian discounts until Putler decided to start world war 4.1998 wrote: β November 16th, 2024, 08:01This is pretty soft regional pricing, used to get way deeper discounts![]()
