It's just cost cutting.
They don't need Denuvo to curtail piracy in the first weeks.
The game they made does that naturally.
It's a couple hundred thousand they realized they just don't need to spend.

Wasted power. I can't think of any game that would benefit all that much from a 5090, not unless you were playing at some ridiculous resolution.Xenich wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 03:48There a problem with them or are they just overpaying for wasted power?

Wonder how many people they banned for slightly disagreeing with anything DA4 related.WaterMage wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 11:14Is ****** era the unique place in the internet with positive views about this game?

How ******* desperate does Bioware have to be for the EA beancounters to decide that the DRM will cost more money than it saves?
My god, I think EA went for the nuclear option and sent a normal person to check out what was going on with this game.

Game journalists will fellate the game and sing its praises to the heavens, and the collectively lose their **** when they are forced to admit the game was a flop.WaterMage wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 11:14Is ****** era the unique place in the internet with positive views about this game?
They will then publish post-mortems blaming gamers for being uncultured, bigoted swine and the reason why gaming isn't regarded as a true art form.
For some reason I can only post images as attachments at the moment. But back on topic: Are you absolutely certain that DA: Deadname is worth the bandwidth to pirate it?

I have 3 hard drives in my PC and even for free, Drag Age Failguard is not worth the disk space.
Ah, ok... I would say it is pointless for those depending on how you upgrade. I don't play the "need to buy the latest card" game like I used to in the 90's, so I upgrade near once every decade and when I do, I go all out for the most part (max memory, upper end processor and video card, etc...). I got the 2080 TI when it came out, pricey, but I don't see myself getting another card until my next upgrade cycle, so the price for what I desire works out.gerey wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 10:15Wasted power. I will say the cost of those components have gotten completely stupid and if it stays on trend, I may not get what I used to, mainly due to your point as the price point vs need won't balance itself, even if you upgrade every decade.

I saw somebody mention how all the CPU and GPU hardware advancements are both artificially limited by manufacturers and then further countered by software bloat because of all the ******** *******, *******, and pajeets that companies hire as engineers.gerey wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 10:15Wasted power. "Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
My guess. They will have no denuvo, so they will blame muh piracy for its failure...
Could be a pre-emptive attempt to hide why the game actually failed, or it could be that EA is desperate to soften the financial blow as much as possible that they've opted not paying Denuvo their fee.WaterMage wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 13:34My guess. Or maybe it's just a ploy to get some buzz going, hope the game sells thanks to word of mouth (lmao) or for EA/BioWare to get some positive PR coming their way: "We are turning a new leaf and are pro consumer now!"

I think normies are also weary of even that at this point since Disney went on record more than a few times saying "we don't care about any culture war and will focus only on making good stuff!" just to recently release a children's Star Wars book featuring a transfag clone trooper. lolgerey wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 17:52Or maybe it's just a ploy to get some buzz going, hope the game sells thanks to word of mouth (lmao) or for EA/BioWare to get some positive PR coming their way: "We are turning a new leaf and are pro consumer now!"
The idea of a genetically engineered clone army can lead to so many ethical and in universe implications that can be interesting in all practical and ethic implication that it generates. Mainly in a universe where souls are real and the afterlife real. But Disney decided to explore it in the stupidest way.
All of them. Is almost as if far left post modernist lunacy can only exist under heavy censorship and repression.1998 wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 11:37they banned for slightly disagreeing with anything DA4 related.
It has uses for VR, where you want to keep min FPS at 90+ and can be running resolutions that are effectively above 12k when you take into account supersampling and each eye being rendered separately.gerey wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 10:15Wasted power. I can't wait to see this game fail and destroy Bioware for good.
Sad that the most anticipated release this year is indeed DA4.KOS-MOS wrote: ↑ October 23rd, 2024, 07:41I can't wait to see this game fail and destroy Bioware for good.

Denuvo also has a monthly fee for as long as they are supporting the game. You might be right.gerey wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 17:52Could be a pre-emptive attempt to hide why the game actually failed, or it could be that EA is desperate to soften the financial blow as much as possible that they've opted not paying Denuvo their fee.WaterMage wrote: ↑ October 22nd, 2024, 13:34My guess. I say that the ones at the PCGamer website deserve a medal for all the mental gymnastics.

#27 on Wishlist. For a game with this budget and a release next week that is still a disaster, and they know it. They are trying to write it to success, but we have seen plenty of times now how large their actual audience is. Won't workUltraFan123 wrote: ↑ October 24th, 2024, 00:23I say that the ones at the PCGamer website deserve a medal for all the mental gymnastics.
