And after Ubishit goes bankrupt, there will be hundreds or perhaps thousands of forum posts on Steam, reddit, jurno articles, and whatnot crying about what a tragedy the death of Ubishit is and we should all feel bad for not supporting iNcLuSiViTy, and the sheer number of these posts will far surpass the amount of people that purchased this game. lmfao

Majority owner would probably prefer that over it being taken away from his family.

Almost. When this fails they'll blame everyone for being racist. They'll say that they fixed all the other things people complained about but this wasn't good enough because those people just actually hated black people all along. They also probably think that making these changes will cut the backlash in Japan and increase sales there so they can say "Look, even the Japanese are fine with it."

Also I don't think they'll miss an opportunity to have a publicity image of afro samurai with his fist in the air during black history month.

Tencent, Guillemot Family Are Said to Consider Buyout of Ubisoft

Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Ubisoft Entertainment SA’s founding Guillemot family are considering options including a potential buyout of the French video game developer after it lost more than half its market value this year, according to people familiar with the matter. The Chinese tech company and Guillemot Brothers Ltd. have been speaking with advisers to help explore ways to stabilize Ubisoft and bolster its value, the people said, asked not to be identified discussing a private matter. One of the possibilities being discussed would involve teaming up to take the company private, according to the people.

Shares of Ubisoft have fallen 54% in Paris trading this year, giving the company a market capitalization of about €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion). Tencent owned 9.2% of Ubisoft’s net voting rights at the end of April, while the Guillemot family held about 20.5%, according to the firm’s latest annual report.

I made a comment in chat a while back to the effect that every IP of importance has a value floor at which point Tencent will buy it to make crappy mobile spinoffs forever.

Looking forward to Assassin's Creed: Gacha on iPhone and Android.

✅Yasuke is not going to be removed

✅The team has been actively addressing many of the historical and cultural concerns, which started before the game’s reveal following external playtests and were accelerated further following the game’s initial reveal and mass feedback.
So, the most important historical and cultural concern won't be addressed, then.

It is not just that, although it feels like it. The problem is that Ubisoft is what one will call "True Believers" of DEI. Kim Belair, the founder of Sweet Baby Inc, did get her start working for Ubisoft. Ubisoft will rather die falling on the sword of DEI then to ever give it up and do a course correction. A lot of companies right now are doing a form of course correction or another. Disney is silently doing some course correction and toning down the LGBTQ and DEI stuff. Sony was apparently blindsided with GoY and aren't happy with insiders saying they want to tone down the DEI ****. The only companies I can see who are going to go down with the ship of DEI is Ubisoft and Wizards of the Coast. The people in charge and their employees would rather kill their companies then to give the chuds a victory.

Yep, seen a lot of this in various places. Once that infestation occurs, it becomes extremely difficult to exterminate and anyone who tries is attacked at all angles. Seen senior leadership come in and start making changes to recover the business to which all kinds of tactics were thrown at them, including various department heads filing bogus charges of sexual harassments, racism, etc... with multiples working together to fraudulently coordinate the accusations. These people are absolutely disgusting and have zero morals.

The biggest problem is that this DEI **** is an amazing grift. Much like racism. All these talentless and lazy people were able to make a bunch of money fast and easy by just sitting on their fat asses and crying "ist" or "phobe". The good times for these people are about to come to an end and they know it. Right now they are struggling against the tide to keep their jobs and have the gravy train go on for a little bit longer. This could not have happened to more deserving people. They get what they ******* deserve.

True. The only thing though is it feels like a pointless victory though due to the fact that this cancer isn't just an entertainment industry thing, it is an "all industry" thing, which means that their demise is akin to cheering on the aft sinking into the water while you stand at the bow.

You don't understand what Tencent is doing or why. Lol.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

I don't know about Ubisoft, but I believe you. In Wizards of the Coast's case, they will not feel the heat until their parent company (Hasbro) is hurt. Hasbro is too big compared to WotC and hasn't suffered significantly from losses at their WotC division.

Wizards represents half of Hasbro's net profit, because the cardboard they sell has a very high markup and the artists they use are paid per item.

I guess I had forgotten that the Magic cards are under Wizards of the Coast. I was thinking only of D&D, my mistake.

Normally early access is good for devs because only the most devoted pay extra for it. Bad sign!

Probably the smartest thing they have done in the last 10+ years. Could easily get them another 200 sales :salute:

The arrogance of these people is astounding. Ubisoft wants to change the world by converting its players into leftists, they say it right in the article.

Those people usually also count translaters, community manager and such as devs. Pretty meaningless number.
