Weird thing is valve apparently released something similar called Deadlock, where 80% of the characters could be from concord and they allegly have like 100k players right now. So either valve can market better or they manipulate their numbers. Since the gameplay doesnt look better than concords.
Most deadlock characters are just inoffensive AFAICT. Really don't think it's going to be a big hit tho tbh, dunno why they bothered.

Maybe no overweight characters and one midly attractive female character. Rest were robots/monsters. Half of the men look gay and the only men without facial hair are the native american and asian. The only 2 human characters which dont look complete *** are Haze and Infernus (and that one just looks like a black Alucard version from the Hellsing anime) But overall its probably just that western artstyle I got allergic to. But I dont play those games anyway.

It's the character designs that are offputting, not the art style. A lot of current western devs grew up watching anime and consooming japanese media, so much so that they believe exaggerated designs with rainbow vomit as color is good.

If they were sincerely copying Japanese designs, they would look good. Western devs make things ugly on purpose. I see nothing in that picture that can be even remotely described as 'rainbow vomit'.

The only thing these characters are missing are the generic anime faces, but everything else is stuff you would see in a Japanese production.

the faces maybe are quite similar depending on the decade its made in but the hairstyles clothes are often very unique with some sex appeal at least. Even the most generic anime games where you can create your character like Code Vein for example have so many good looking hairstyles. Black desert aswell. And while they arent hero shooters nothing stops western companies from similar designs.

Wow, this must be a historic flop for AAA games. PlayStation HQ must be in an uproar.

Didn't they have like 7 or 8 or these GAAS games in development. We've only seen the beginning.

IIRC, they had around 12, they canceled a bunch of them, but apparently not enough. Sony really went all-in with the GaaS craze, and it is going to cost them dearly.

I wonder how badly TLOU2 damaged the IP that they'd kill the multiplayer spinoff in favor of this.

The giga-cope from the "analysts", they aren't even allowed to discuss why the game failed because their ideology doesn't allow it.
If investors cared about actually figuring out why Sony just blew a quarter of a million dollars, they should check the comments instead

It has been done now.
(Watch this, it's actually kinda clever.)

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

How **** the numbers are catastrophic. Maybe chasing trends in buying a studio solely for live service games was a bad idea.

Or closing Japan studio which had respectable sales numbers and a loyal fanbase but then again when has Sony made wise business decisions.

Concord dev competence vs. Killzone 2 dev competence.
It's a really good comparison as they are both Sony console AAA 1st party (Sony developed) titles.

seeing a whole lot of "if it was free it would have had tons of players!" cope
hell divers 2 must have been a giga-flop because it was a live services game that cost $40

I'll go so far as to say that monetization of a game does not actually matter in the least. You can be the scummiest developer in the world with the most predatory monetization practices, and it will sell tons of copies if it's actually good and appealing.

"Sadly" it probably sold even too few copies for them to even go F2P. Would indeed be great to see with what excuse they come up with next.
