Guess we found our modern audience, this and Stillborne both have about the same follower numbers...

What I find interesting is that Stillborn even has slightly more followers, 5849, but way less conversions. I always thought these ratios are supposed to be pretty predictable.

People are saying that this game only cost 100 million to make. No way did this **** heap only cost 100 million. Like all Sony games this game had massively inflated budget and was probably around 200-300 million to make. What shocks me isn't the budget but the fact that Sony took one look at these character designs and said; "Looks good!" These character designs feel like they are from a mentally deranged Tumblr blogger's fever dream. Nobody wants to play something that is aesthetically unpleasing to the eyes.

8 years in development, studio located in the US, the production values of the cutscenes and the general cost of developing a modern, graphically intensive game. I agree, no way did this turd cost a mere 100 million.
700 players on launch isn't a flop, it's being stillborn. It's going to be hilarious if Sony is forced to fund the 2 to 3 seasons of content they had promised, ballooning the budget even further.
I assume the issue is that bots don't buy games.1998 wrote: ↑ August 24th, 2024, 04:02What I find interesting is that Stillborn even has slightly more followers, 5849, but way less conversions. I always thought these ratios are supposed to be pretty predictable.

Dustborn had a steam page for a much longer period of time prior to release.1998 wrote: ↑ August 24th, 2024, 04:02What I find interesting is that Stillborn even has slightly more followers, 5849, but way less conversions. I always thought these ratios are supposed to be pretty predictable.

The pure ecstasy in knowing a **** developer making a **** game losing 100 million dollars is nearly orgasmic.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer studio.
The 100 million dollars went to pay the employees who made it.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 03:03The pure ecstasy in knowing a **** developer making a **** game losing 100 million dollars is nearly orgasmic.

VAE VICTIS
Correct and I’m gleefully waiting to the inevitable layoffs for such a colossal failure of a launch.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 03:25The 100 million dollars went to pay the employees who made it.

If you ever have any doubt that publishers are genuinely ********, just remember that "Overwatch but more woke. Give me 100 million USD" has been a successful pitch multiple times.
At least 40% of that money went to consultants and non-productive managers. Maybe more.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 03:25The 100 million dollars went to pay the employees who made it.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 03:03The pure ecstasy in knowing a **** developer making a **** game losing 100 million dollars is nearly orgasmic.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

They all got paid while they were making it and they'll all find new jobs to do it again.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 03:47Correct and I’m gleefully waiting to the inevitable layoffs for such a colossal failure of a launch.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 03:25The 100 million dollars went to pay the employees who made it.
Imagine how much money a crass, foul-mouthed, and based (but technically adept and well crafted) Overwatch would make...Silvanus wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 06:38If you ever have any doubt that publishers are genuinely ********, just remember that "Overwatch but more woke. Everything in the industry (except the production teams) is screaming this fact to developers right now, but they either can't see it, or just won't do it.

I wish I was working at Sony right now, just to watch this shitshow directly from the source. This is so funny
Is Concord the biggest flop in gaming history?
I would assume not, but I can't really think of another project that is (rumored) to have cost cca. 300 million, flopped this spectacularly and is unlikely to ever make the money back.

I'm glad, actually. They need to keep hiring these ******* and allow them to ruin more expensive projects, and keep doing it until the whole Western industry collapses under the weight of their retardation.Tweed wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 06:57They all got paid while they were making it and they'll all find new jobs to do it again.

Yeah, but that one cost cca. $100 million. Still a good lesson Sega won't soon forget, but Concord is on another level. Sony, in their infinite wisdom, actually bought the studio that was making Concord.Oyster Sauce wrote: ↑ August 25th, 2024, 15:15Hyenas was Sega's highest budget game ever and they canned it before release
