Don't remember who said it but someone around these parts said it, they do the Vitiglio thing because it's an easy texture warp. They get to check the "disability" box by just doing a simple effect, which is much easier than doing something hard to a wheelchair.

I also assume that they believed that there would have been no alternatives to the Western game industry (to be fair the Western game industry was a juggernaut 10-20 years ago) and that other countries would fall in lock step with the DEI ********. Turns out that East Asia doesn't give a **** about what ****, baizuo and sheng nü (Chinese slang for "leftover women. We all know who they are.) have to say and they want to make money. This lead to them creating a alternative market for entertainment starved Westerners who gladly gave them their money. I definitely didn't assume they wanted them at all. My point was that most people tolerated them for a while, but that time is over. People have ****** fatigue now. They've never wanted it, but it was pushed in their faces from everywhere. Now even the normies are no longer tolerating it because they see it's coming from a place of hate.

With more VRAM on modern systems.. If you have the texture budget for two diffuse maps.. this is just a simple noise lerp.
This is very easy to implement on a skin shader - and is really only restrained by memory while giving lots of good-boi-bucks in your diversity quota.

The amount of people with this skin condition is probably like 0.00000001 but unlike wheel chairs it takes almost zero development work to implement.

TL;DR - You are gonna start seeing this feature in every game now.. and just shows how creatively bankrupt devs are.
