Dragon's Dogma

How is the second one? I saw Robbaz play it, but it seemed to be full of woke and "diversity" hires (and I think there is a mod here to remove such idioicies), but aside from that the pawns system did really look very good, made it almost look like a normal game without "Inclusivity" rot.
Even Mortem the YT reviewer (Mortisimal Gaming) that likes most everything said it was inferior to the original in gameplay. It's on his "Disappointing Games of 2024" list.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.

Only reason the patent itself was approved was most likely because it was filed prior to the Alice decision. Game mechanics aren't protected by patents. If you want to read further on this subject, this is a very good article on the topic:
https://www.finnegan.com/en/insights/ar ... atent.html
Based on the article and - as you mentioned – the fact that the patent law doesn’t really cover game mechanics it is likely that the patent will not be renewed past its expiration date, which I think is around 2036.
Would love to see more games implementing a similar system in the future when possible.
Also **** Warner Bros.

Are there any games that incorporates a dynamic AI-system somewhat similar to the Nemesis System in Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor/War?
In which procedurally generated NPCs remember interactions with the player and adapts accordingly within their parameters. More or less turning into unique personality of their own.

Not sure if I’m describing it correctly.

Does anyone know if Prince of Persia (from 1989) has some sort of different versions or something? The one I played was from a floppy disk and it did not use audio as we have these days (stereo and the likes), but instead made sounds through the PC itself, making it beep and more. The versions online seem to have audio etcetera, and while I cannot say if they are the same version I played or not (as I recall there was more than one that I played, some being more "modernized and polished" that, though, I disliked) I would like confirmation if there is indeed some different version I am unaware of. I am unsure if these modern pcs can bleep, but, though it was quite loud, I am missing that, It felt more techy, in some way, compared to hearing clean audio played from a speaker, not sure how to explain.

Many DOS games had simple PC speaker audio & midi audio, along with other options. This was back when buying a sound card was a big deal. If you're playing a dosbox version or something, there is probably a config file with the game you can use to change the sound settings.

Mount&Blade: Warband.

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH HIS OLDER, ******** BROTHER.

Looks dissapointingly in the shadowy corner

Albeit you don't build a keep, per se. Might be some mods for that.

Suikoden series. Each game has your army based in a fort that is expanded as the game goes on.
  • S1: the fort is set inside a giant rock pillar/underneath a mountain, with more cavern floors carved out and renovated as you progress and recruit more people.
  • S2: you take over an abandoned run down castle and begin fixing it up, new wooden buildings pop inside the gates, etc.
  • S3: you acquire ownership of a small French chateau and clean it up.
  • S4: was naval themed so you got a ship instead.
  • S5: You have a humongous grandiose flooded castle and the water level recedes unlocking more layers.
  • Eiyuden Chronicle: you have a humongous stone castle and can fix it up and also build more buildings within.

Does anyone know of any RPGs were you can actually collect/steal genes from monsters/enemies and use Genetics/Biotech/Bio-engineering to improve your player characters (whether it be human party members or creatures)? As long as its not just increasing your ability/skill/spell list a la FF's Blue Mages.

Interesting, FF6 goes full cyberpunk. No moonrune skills and no translation patch = :rip: Only the intro/menu are in English.

Heart of the Swarm is probably the most literal gene stealing mechanic but not much of an RPG.

There are a few that I recall seeing Markiplier play with his friends, though it seems they are all actually the Early Access of this same game called simply BIGFOOT (all caps)

Not related to finding Bigfoot, but one I really enjoyed playing with a friend is Sons of the Forest

that was similar, otherwise Don't Starve Together was also somewhat interesting to play across LAN.

I'd be down to play Bigfoot BIGFOOT tbh. Looks like a fun game with bros.

Update on BIGFOOT. THEY ARE HOHOL DEVS FROM KIEV.
These are quotes from users on steam:
I bought this for my 2 kids to play on brand new gaming PCs. Lobby search is so sub-par from the early 2000's. No friend invite option. CANNOT EVEN PLAY IN ANY ONLINE LOBBY. They both get stuck at the loading screen infinitely or the press any key screen. They can ONLY play against AI. THIS GAME SHOULD BE FREE IF YOU'RE A LEARNING DEVELOPER. ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!!!!!!! NO WHERE CLOSE TO A LAUNCHABLE PRODUCT.
THIS GAME IS BOOTY
$20 SCAM FOR A GAME YOU LITERALLY CAN RARELY PLAY. FIX YOUR GAME OR MAKE IT FREE. IM REFUNDING.

Darkest Dungeon, if you can call it an rpg.

DAI has a keep, though it doesn't seem like that keep is mechanically important to the game.

Yeah, Geneforge is the only thing I've found that fits. Its a 5-game series though, so I was hoping to find something shorter before I tackled all of those :read:

Why would you feel the need to commit to 5 very similar games? Just play one of them, a perfectly self-contained experience, and decide if you like it.

Evo, someone already posted it somewhere.

The Breath of Fire series is close (especially 3 and 4), but you don't get dragon genes from enemies (usually).
