Between this, Avowed and VtMB2, there's so many simultaneous shitshows I really don't know where to invest my popcorn in.

This will be an amusing quick flameout and Bloodlines 2 will probably be a wet fart I'm putting all my chips on Avowed for slop of the year.
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

Also bring back Spirit Healer and Blood Magic this time. Inquisition lacked it
Unironically this. Playing Inquisition as Mage felt like a chore. The class was completely stripped down and bare-bones compared to II and Origins, to the point it made my ‘Canon’ Inquisitor a Warrior. They also locked skills and spells previously available to all Mages behind specializations.

It looks like Veilguard is going the Mass Effect route, which honestly doesn’t surprise me. Andromeda was actually surprisingly good in the gameplay department. They also pared down the companions from 9 to 7 which feels decent. Still not going to preorder or buy day one though.

Skyrim Belongs to the Nords.
Geek the Mage first.

WHAT??? You don't want to play an elemental mage? Well, too bad for you!

In retrospect, I am beginning to wonder if DA:O/DA:A was/were the last good game/s from Bioware (at least in the fantasy genre, not speaking of sci-fi/ME, which I haven't played since I have interest in such things). DA:E (2) is in fact not worth playing without the Legacy DLC, which sets the stage for DA:I. Inquisition has its moments, but lacks in both gameplay (read the post to which this is an answer) and story/setting: Bioware at one point seem to have left their low-fantasy approach and basically made yet another game which can be summarized as exactly what they did not want Dragon Age to be, originally: "rainbows and unicorns".
I am not optimistic on DA:V's behalf, but I guess at one point I will look at it. I bought Inquisition only when it went on sale about 5 years after its release.

And thus the meme "Deadname" has actually come true.

Avowed and Bloodlines 2 will be awful in the way forgettable trash so often is. The writing will be bad, there will be woke stuff, but none of it will break new ground (at least by 2024 standards). In a month both games will be forgotten. I can concede that, maybe, Obsidian could surprise me and **** out the smelliest turd, but I doubt it.

Both Avowed and Bloodlines 2 are clearly games that neither studio wants to make - there's no passion behind either, nor do the publishers have any faith in the end product, and both games feel like they're being developer in lieu of anything better to do.

Deadname, on the other hand, has the possibility of being a glorious trainwreck. I have faith in BioWare.

This is actually a revelation for me.

Up to this point I was sort of assuming Obsidian development wanted to make a Skyrim-Avowed game. Like they have Microsoft $$$ and they have "security" (lol not really), they did the BG clone thing twice three times. They have their own IP - I sort of just assumed the team would be super excited to make their own Elder Scrolls franchise. Hell, maybe they even were during the planning phase when everything was on paper and the reality of what "making Skyrim" means hadn't set in yet - it's fun to dream about games.

BUT..

Based on the turn over rate, revolving door of leads and what a **** show development is.. I think you might be right - It might actually just be Fergus and Parker that want Skyrim sales numbers - and the rest of the team actually just wanted to make Pentiment 2...

That means not only is Avowed ****, it has no hope of getting better.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard’ Game Director Who Describes Himself As A “Queerosexual Gendermancer” Claims Game Is “Inherently *****”

Busch detailed, “As a ***** ***** woman, I have a perspective on the games that not everyone has. Dragon Age has long been a place where LGBTQIA+ folks can see people like themselves, represented respectfully. It’s inherently very *****, and it’s such a rare thing for marginalized communities to have representation where we feel proud and powerful in how we are depicted.”

Right. Definitely not buying this game now. I'll play DA:O/DA:A again and again, but the future of DA:E and DA:I on my PC are doubtful, and DA:V has probably had the nails in its coffin now by this ...eh... wo/man. Or whatsit. When the company emphasizes "queerness" as a quality in itself rather than, say, the story, I lose interest. Sorry Dragon Age, it's been 15 awesome years including a 4-year long pen&paper campaign. But I'm not here for (an)alphabetism and other totalitarian ideologies.

is this the first AAA RPG with a certified gender bender mental patient at its helm? if so, I'm actually looking forward to witness just how ****** up the end product looks like - call it morbid curiosity, I suppose.

She is giving off some jewish vibes. Bit mixed on whether she is or not, from the pictures I could find. Wouldn't be a surprise if she is.
Also supports BLM, by the way. See this link..

Does anyone notice the difference in lighting on his face compared to the arms? Did they seriously digitally airbrush the picture just to make him seem less stereotypically ******-ish?

Because the heavy make-up and odd jaw (the lips look disproportionally large?) are still a giveaway. But hey, A for effort! Now it's not as screamingly obvious as other cases I guess.

How can you even look at that thing for longer than 0.5 seconds? Also, very scientifically I estimate the odds of a self insert to be 98.78%

They wanted Dragon Age 2 to be God of War.

There's zero chance that this isn't a game that is two thirds Dark Souls, one third God of War, and then some tacked on elements that are viewed as franchise pillars, like companions.

Too late. There is already a ****** character (Maevaris) who is Dorian's best friend and member of their newly-formed revisionist party. He is mentioned in some war table missions and the Trespasser epilogue IIRC, and I believe other media as well. They are almost certainly going to make the ****** either a companion or an advisor we can't avoid.

I actually only played it about 2 years ago. Good thing it's so incredibly boring that I couldn't get myself to read anything, dropped it after 10h. It would be much worse if their ultra woke games actually had any redeeming qualities whatsoever.
