The Great Rebellion uncut patch for steam version

Post by AbleistSL »

Can someone please make an uncut patch for The Great Rebellion?

I payed for the steam version and later discovered it was censored due to valve's demands.

Note: an uncut mod will likely require paying for the game twice

I was curious to know what had been censored so I took a look at the game's steam forum, here is what I've found:

Self-censorship is such a disgusting term. Everyone is "self-censoring". Even in China I am fairly confident that big Xi is not actually editing games himself.

Uncut you say?
I'm just stating the facts.
Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?

I think people usually use self-censor to mean "to censor one's own work despite a lack of external (legal) pressure", which is different from actual censorship that comes from the government or other higher authority.

But in most cases there is external pressure, maybe not legal, but certainly pressure.

Yes, but when someone says self-censor, the implication is that the creator is caving to weak, non-legal pressure, such as a vocal online minority, and thus the term connotes a greater disdain for the self-censorer.

Might be easiest to just ask the developer. Considering the game, maybe even give them a link to this thread.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
