It seems like strange and likely political activism based companies have a say in The Game Awards show this year, likely breaking it as it will not be based on merit. PRIDE.com doesn't sound like they would be voting based on merit, because "Pride" is a buzzword for the woke stuff they put in these games these days.

It's literally the Oscars of vidya - full of faggotroons circlejerking each other based on messaging, rather than merit.
And they weren't shy about it from the very beginning either.

That's not even this year's jury. That's from 2023, and the actual jury consisted of 100+ outlets from around the world. Both images are from /v/. One ****** has been crying about it for a year because BG3 won. Grummz just shamessly reposted his shitpost, because that's where he gets most of his content from.

Here's how it actually works:
-Jeff's friend wants an award or someone who wants to be Jeff's friend buys some advertising
-That person promises to show up to receive the award
-That person gets the award
-Some voting takes place to give the event a veneer of legitimacy
-The award is presented at the show

People just realizing this? Merit hasn't been a part of this crap regardless if it is entertainment, science, etc.. for decades (and if even then). Everything is political plays, money, motives, etc...
If this were a merit based society, the majority of the people on top would be working at the local shop mart.

Grummz really needs to a better researching and checking his sources but a lot of times he gets **** wrong and people clown on him because of that.
This is actually a good idea, you know. The RPGHQ Troonbuster Awards or something.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ November 15th, 2024, 18:22awards show except it's just me picking the games that get awards
I learned about that trademark registration attempt from this video. Some say they're salty over "The Real Game Awards" existing. The video really starts about 3:30 in, so skip to then for the video discussion.Jordy wrote: ↑ November 15th, 2024, 21:30

Comes across as a big grift to me. Like it or not, Steam has the most democratic process and that's free.

Helldivers 2, but the whole Sony fiasco knocks them down a good bit.maidenhaver wrote: ↑ November 16th, 2024, 23:13Was there another game this year?rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ November 16th, 2024, 23:12The overall game of the year is obviously space marine 2.

The only reason people care about the game awards is the reveal trailers for upcoming games.
I don’t give two shits about the actual awards for the same reason not caring in awards ceremonies such as Oscars and Grammy’s

Yeah but there's no way that the current mainstream media will ever acknowledge it unless to talk **** about it cuz it's perceived as "anti-woke" game just like Space Marine II is.wndrbr wrote: ↑ November 17th, 2024, 06:43there's also the Chinese Monke.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ November 16th, 2024, 23:14Helldivers 2, but the whole Sony fiasco knocks them down a good bit.
The funniest thing is that - unlike SM2 where the developers of the game actually did went out of their way to publicly say how much they detest wokeness - the developers of Wukong simply found themselves in a mistranslation issue that was overblown by the journos, Game Science has never said anything regarding the current culture here on the West. lol

Well Space Marines II still boils the heads of libtards, when I went back to discord the day after Trump won I saw one of them say "Veilguard is super terrible but at least is nowhere near as bad as SM2 or monke game" so it's alright in my book.A Chinese opium den wrote: ↑ November 17th, 2024, 08:00UltraFan123 wrote: ↑ November 17th, 2024, 06:50unlike SM2 where the developers of the game actually did went out of their way to publicly say how much they detest wokeness![]()
