Installation
  1. Make a backup of the file the mod override. The location and name of those files are the same as the one in my mod file, follow the pathing.
    • Once the backup is done, replace them with the one from the mod.
    Done.

    To uninstall, simply put the backup of the original files back in it's place, replacing the mod ones.
    ► If you play on a different version than me (3.3.0), or if for some reason it is not working for you, here is what have been changed ;
    ► Here is another additional method if the above is somehow not enough, not tested myself but it seem to work for JauSeth ;

I know from @Crusaderknight20 that you can;

Open the file 00_Defines located in "Crusader Kings III\game\common\defines"
Use ctrl-f to search and find PERCENTAGE_HOMOSEXUAL, PERCENTAGE_BISEXUAL, PERCENTAGE_ASSEXUAL and edit the number from 5.0 to whatever you wish.

lowering it to 1 or 0 should reduce number of ******* right?

i played ck3 a few years ago and wasnt there an option to make homosexuality a crime when you reform religion?a mod which grants anti lgbt law to every religion would be fun

Put it to 0 i'd say, or to 0.1 if it does not work.

I don't know i have not played it, but if it work similarily to CK2, what you need to do is to reform a faith with that, open your save and locate that new religion you just made, under it should be a list of all specificity, find the one you want and copy it's name as it is under other religions and the option will apply to them too, it may also include a "check" tie to the name depending on the thing.

Could be a line like : "allow_homosexual = no" (i just made that up, for the example)

Thanks for the mod Tiphy! I didn't even know there were events like that in the game.

I've always removed the entire "Homosexual" trait from the game, which could be the reason why I have never seen such events appear before.

To be on the safe side, you may also want to add in the OP how to remove the entire trait so that no character in the game has it.

To do that:
  • Go to the "common/traits" folder within the game's installation directory
  • Open the file "00_traits.txt" in any text editor
  • Search (CTRL+F) for the term "homosexual"
  • When you find it, the trait will usually be in the format of:
    TRAIT_NAME = {
    ...
    }
  • Remove the entire trait, along with the curly braces
And, done!

When I did it, everyone who had that trait had it immediately removed, and any negative penalties it brought with it were no longer applied.

Test it out, and let me know how it goes.

I thought if i removed it, it would cause some bugs if an event triggering it happen, that is why i opted to remove the trait from the events giving it instead.

I'll add your way to the post as an additional thing to do if what is already done is not enough for some people, thanks.

Edit; Those are not events you can see, for example when you'r kid randomly get gay trait i do not have pop-up for that, i just noticed when clicking on him. (Unless i have something not set up correctly in my pop-up settings...)
The varangian one is the only gay-giving event that i'v seen pop up, and only to inform the player, there is no choice in the matter.

I started playing CK2 again recently and I can confirm that there is still ******* in the game with just the mod that remove events. With both the mod that remove the events and the trait removed there is none, works well.

Also it's better to not replace the files directly in the game, it's simple to create mods in this game, you just need to place the mod folder in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod and create a descriptor with path and name.

You lost me there. :lol:
You seem to know your way around this game, if you happen to make this for yourself, please do share.

The descriptor is just a .mod text file that you create manually in which you put the name of the mod and its path to link the mod to the launcher of the game, it works the same for most Paradox games https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Modding#Mod_structure

Here is a mod that disable the events and the trait for example https://f.rpghq.org/zg9Q7hi3xy9q.rar?n= ... events.rar , you put these in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod and it appears in the launcher
