Legends of Amberland II Released

Post by Dorateen »

Legends of Amberland II has just been released!

The sequel to 2019's classic Might & Magic style cRPG should have considerable improvements over the first. Notably, better dungeon exploration. I thought the overworld adventuring was very well designed, and I expect that aspect of the "The Song of Trees" to be no less excellent.

World of Xeen is one of the few dungeon crawlers I enjoy — along with Wiz 8. I should probably play the first game.

It's aggressively okay.
Nothing wrong with it, nothing special either.
It's average in its genre.
But it's a rare genre for a decent full release nowadays.
You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

Ultima?
It's nothing like Ultima, except the Ultima dungeons were first person instead of top-down. Until Ultima II where the combats went to a top down combat screen.

Grimrock is good for what it is.
