Modders don’t own the IP they’re working with. Even if they add original content, their mods are built on someone else’s property, so legally, it’s not truly 'their work'.

I mean, it is their work, even legally. They just don't own the product of their work. A contractor may claim that your house is 'his work', but it is still your house.

The problem is that Nexus's leadership is full of delusional idiots who think they are much more influential than they actually are, so this idea of 'ownership' creeps in. You see this on other social platforms too, like reddit mods believing they 'own' subreddits, that they're 'theirs'. That works as long as the company(s) who actually own that **** humor them, but eventually that stops and the pathetic little gremlins lose their little internet fiefdoms. Just looks at reddit's so-called blackout.

As much as I loathe Reddit for enabling them in the first place, I loved watching them put the boot in and crushing those whiny little jannies. Every whiny, complaining "We were forced to re-open or be replaced!" mod post was just delicious to read.

I was lurking on a discord where there were also some reddit mods (game related subreddit) and some of them had actual mental breakdowns when they realized all the power they thought they had was only in their heads.

When they whined that reddit would collapse without their "free labor" it took so much effort not to tell them that there will always be another small-dicked loser willing to do it for free, just to have a little power.

And then some other hero told them and the entire discord was nuked, lol. Ah, memories.

Shouldnt be so hard for nexus to just limit the bandwith for a day, like some filehosters have it. Then you can only download like 1gb in 24hours with your ip. Should greatly reduce the costs. Wouldnt be surprised if there are many people downloading the same mod over and over again just because its free and they already deleted it before for some reason.

The problem with this plan is that this wouldn't be enough to even download some of the mods they have there, effectively setting the maximum size of mod to that size.
