Easy to learn and easy to master? Or easy to learn and hard to master?

For discussing role-playing video games, you know, the ones with combat.

Which is better?

Still far from being very hard if you know how to optimize builds, sure
I beat the game about a week after it released and my exposure to 5E prior amounted to playing half of Solasta. I followed no guide, and had no idea how to "optimize builds".
The game is pretty easy, and it was disappointing due to it.
Yes standard game is shit easy, even "tactician".

I should add that it actually starts off difficult. I suspect they really toned down the difficulty compared to DOS2 tactician because people choose the hardest difficulty then whine that it's too hard.

Difficulty going down is a problem in many games because of feedback loops like rewarding difficult encounters or underestimating the mathematical advantages of additional actions.

Also a great example of how I hate gloves having more strength than a character.
What's this in reference of?

I like late-game hard-to-get items that boost stats a lot!

It only breaks the game if the game designers didn't take those items into account. Because they could just include encounters that REQUIRE such items to get past, LEGENDARY encounters. (That cannot be cheesed unlike say in Dying Light.)
