Anyone heard about the latest console game Stellar Blade? The main character is a hot korean babe. There was a real prototype - korean model.

Recently she cosplayed in one of the costumes in game.

Definitely cringe. Let me have my male heroes.

Ok ***.
I agree with you, but you think that for the wrong reason (gay).
So a guy who doesn't want to play as a pink-haired barbie with her colour-coded barbie entourage and play gacha for costumes (dolly dressup) is now gay?

In this context the female characters are waifus, not the player's avatar, and the audience's demands to purge the male pandering characters is a wise one.

Nothing good comes from pandering to fujoshis, or really, encouraging women to play games at all.

Note that I say this in the context of pandering/gacha games.

That jiggaboo was a blemish on Diablo 2. If you want a good black protagonist, look 4 years in the future for GTA: San Andreas (though that's too true to life to make jigs feel good about themselves. Why the self-hatred, tyrone?).

This response is why no ground will ever be made in this debate. "uuhh actually we were loving wholesome ******* too we're not racist please don't call us racist see we put unlikable blacks in our games too!". Way to completely allow your enemy to continue to frame the debate and set the rules. :groan:

If logic and truth mattered at all to these people we would not be in the situation we are now. The correct answer is to call him a stupid ****** and say no one is under any obligation to pander to 13% of the US population (respectfully). Instead this basically concedes the point that representation matters and the only issue is not giving them credit.

Finished this game below.

It is a short prequel of around 1-2 hours focusing mostly on puzzles. They plan to release the main game some time in the future.
This prequel is reminiscent of mostly the Silent Hill games and they are its main inspiration. It isn't the only one, there are also Twin Peaks references, as an example.
It isn't as creepy and as good as Lost in Vivo, more about that one below.
Anyway, it ain't bad for its low price, but doesn't have much replay value. Definitely gonna pay attention to what becomes of the main game.
Their programmer has a YT channel which can be found here. Didn't pay attention if there is more than one in the game's credits.

Now, this is a proper horror game and one of the best in recent years, imo.
Don't buy it though, it is from a ****** dev called Akuma Kira. Instead, sail the high seas.
Where Lake Haven - Chrysalis is more akin to Silent Hill 1, Lost in Vivo is like Silent Hill 3. The use of setting with the sewer. The use of lightning, small hallways to invoke claustrophobia and other horror elements.
Another game it has similarity to is Cry of Fear, at least based on the first impression from it. Have to finish that one at some point.

Really? I remember seeing the devlogs of Vivo and it looked quite awful. The low poly graphics, terrible effects, lots of bloom, really bizarre setup (your dog runs away and you go looking for it) etc. Was the final product greatly imporved on what he was showcasing in the early days?

Yeah, it is one of the closest things to both Cry of Fear and the Silent Hill series we have gotten in years.

Found "Lost in Vivo Developer Diary #1" and the game is much darker than on his program. Don't know if that is what you meant, but if you had another video in mind, feel free to post it.
In fact, the use of lighting and field of view in connection with level building is pretty great. The game also allows adjustments in the options. First play-through of mine was slightly lower than the default setting.
Having PS1-inspired graphics shouldn't make it worse. People still play the old horror titles and they get carried by setting, atmosphere, and other elements.
The setup with the dog has a purpose, it is a therapy dog of sorts. The story is more than that, however. Don't want to spoil anything, besides he or she is used more than once in the game for events. And it isn't just sewers in the game.
There is a good amount of extra content and two additional modes as well as the integration of new game plus. This includes enemy changes for the modes and NG+ and therefore slightly different game-play.
The developer also used jump-scares better than in many other horror titles.

Quick reminder that he is a ****** or something. Has pronouns in twitter bio.
And is Dev of Lunacid. So yeah, sailing the seas.
