Most likely. The christian cultures (both catholic and protestant) in Europe have created quite a few strange (for certain language groups, at least) "rules" for naming. As you say, Maria is considered a normal (if not widespread) middle (first) name for men in Western Europe as well, take e.g. Jesus Maria Zamora, spanish footballer in the 70s and 80s.
And even better, which for English speaking persons probably sounds just hilarious, another footballer: the Belgian, Jean-Marie Pfaff. A very much true man, though both first first name and middle first name for most English speakers probably would make them believe it was a woman...

For Maria, or Marie as a mans name, it's actually derived from the Latin 'Marius'. The alternate spelling was spread with Christianity - though Maria was a Latin Female version, the references to Mother Mary would have been seen as auspicious, and not a reference to how much of a ****** you were.

Many Catholic countries, such as Italy, Poland, Spain, and France keep this spelling, since the reference is very clear.

A parent could play any TSR branded D&D video game with their child without issue to the best of my recollection. It's quite sad that a game company now has their brand on video games exclusively for sexually overactive adults.
Heck, nearly all, if not all, of the TSR-branded D&D games even had a positive message about defeating evil. The message I took away from BG3 is, well… I'm not even sure. The game just falls apart in the third act to begin with.

In our capital city Berlin they want to open a kindergarden where children will get in contact with such topics intentionally. They want to build a room, where children can "explore each other", especially the erogenous zones of their bodys, for example. Thinking about this makes me sick. Why they have to sexualise everything? Children are supposed to have a carefree childhood and shouldn't get in contact with any sexual topic at all until puberty. Our government wanted to introduce a law which would have allowed children to choose their gender at the age of 14 without consens of their parents and without the one year of consulting a doctor to discuss their decision and being told about all consequences of genderswapping. Luckily this law was rejected, but cases like this make it clear how twisted our leftists politicians are.

I stopped playing the game shortly before finishing Act 1 because I felt like I had been bait and switched by Larian putting all the transformers in Act 3, not knowing they masculinized the female facial textures VS early access, made Shadowhearts backstory with her transformer friend basically ANTIFA punching Nazis for dead naming her friend. Once I figure out how to get Lampray working on Manjaro I will actually continue to play the game, thanks to your mod.

It is very much appreciated.

I also learned about some of the dynamics behind the writing and it correlating with business changes within Larian IRL. Kinda cringe seeing Sven talk about greed in video games, when the only reason to shoe-horn in so much LGBTQIA+-= nonsense is to get ESG $$. Why else would Larian be down with shoving all that in on the backend in the portions of the game that were not available in early access. Act 3, which I have not personally played, sounds like a manifestation of an inverse correlation between The Message and quality coding. Like the transformers and bugs had a correlating increase throughout the game.
