as a sidenote for anyone interested i made a compatibility patch for this to work with show approval ratings mod on nexus
its my first time modding so i basically merged the two mods with winmerge line by line but consider this a christmas present for someone who's interested, like completionists or whatever (only experience i have is editing xml files of old school age of empires 3)
i just added your changes from lingo to this (link)
instructions: put the file in drive\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Localization\English. couldnt get this to work with pak

Yes that's right. And only change the original Lingo mod to change Sebastienne lines and nothing else.

Сер, как положено к рыцарским титулам. Сир это же к королям, правителям и проч. На английском, получается так, что Sire - обращение к монарху, а Sir - к рыцарям и всяким таким подобным. На русский исторически переводят как Сир и Сер соответственно.

Ну тогда уж должен быть "сэр", а не "сер", согласно правилам русского языка. А так, да, Сэр - рыцарь, Сир - монарх. К слову, я тоже перевел как "сэр" (именно через "э", потому что "сер" является ошибкой с точки зрения орфографии).

You can use Chatgpt for a lot of quick corrections as needed . Here i have the plus version and i told it to fix girfriend in all cases

Read the How to Translate this Mod section in my original post. Has all the instructions to make the language pack. That should solve your issue. And you should be able to get your English.loca to work

You can use Chatgpt for a lot of quick corrections as needed . Here i have the plus version and i told it to fix girfriend in all cases

what's more astonoshing is how chatgpt here behaves like your typical twittard hoe, making it sound as if your typical word for "female friend/girl friend" is only used as "my romantic female partner uwu" and not as emphasis your friend is a chick. "друг" (male friend) is a masculine word, and nobody uses it in their everyday speech to not specify your homie's gender like them english speakers (unless you have a reason to hide the fact you're friends with a woman) you only use "подруга" as "gf" when you wanna mock someone. chatgpt, start thinking with your binary code already.

Compatibility section in OP should explain some obvious conflicts. Other than that, companion voice change mods will be an issue because some lines that speak of ser Aylin are over written by the voice lines. So there you will want to give your voice change mod higher priority and live with wrong Aylin pronouns from that character.

Seems like voice or lingo part of the mod wrongly rename guardian voice options during character creation. Voice 1 named male 1 but play female voice, and female 1 play male voice.
Want to start new honor playthrough, and wanna know beforehead is it just typo in naming, or i ll encounter mismatch guardian voice latter on.

Thought 3 mandatory mod parts don't change anything during character creation or am i wrong?

no it only works for the mod i made, because the approval rating is added with the in-game text, unlike skill checks.


TLDR: you have to change every line one by one

i moreso combined the two mods together, adding/changing text from noalphabets into the english.loca file from the approval mod. i did this with winmerge


so on the left you see noalphabets xml and on the right its the original file from the game/approval rating mod/your OIO file
on the left everything is removed and replaced at the bottom with the text from NoAlphabets
i had to remove the text on the right but also maintain text with for example [Shadowheart 1], while ALSO checking if theres no rainbow bs from larian. luckily the color in the tool changes to white/red so it was easy to spot
sometimes you get cases where there is text on the same line as you can see. i just copied everything from the noalphabets text

so if a OIO compatibility (merged actually) mod were to be made, it has to be done manually like that

if you want i can try to do that, but it takes time since hundreds of lines have to be changed
or you can do it yourself. its pretty easy to do it, but it takes very long.
maybe theres an easier way, since i dont know everything myself. maybe theres a better tool for example. you could maybe filter out the parentheses and the "DC" string and then add the lines from noalphabets. i tried to do that with the other mod by trying to filter the brackets but it doesnt work for me, so i had to change the lines from noalphabets one by one

it also gets more complex if you want it to work with the NoRomance mod, since that also changes the lines. i made one myself but only for the NoMaleRom version (reply if anyone wants. it combines no approval + NoAlphabets + NoMaleRom)

@orinEsque NoAlphabetsVoice-v3.2.pak doesn't download as a zip file, it downloads just as the pack file, and has a different name than prior voice files (so I wasn't prompted to overwrite and replace a previous version when I put it in my mod folder). Should I use that AND the previous one (NoAlphabetsVoice.pak), or disable the previous one?

You should trust what you hear rather than the text. I'll have a look and make sure to fix this issue. Unfortunately text in the character creator ALSO use the Lingo pack..

Delete/ disable the previous version. I'll probably not put version on the file name from now on to prevent this issue. But mod manager should still have version information.
