Rome Total War - absolute monster amount of hours. Impossible to calculate the many lifetimes of hours of chinese peasant children I tallied-up in Rome Total War. This is my top 9 favorite games.
Dawn of War - This is real 40K, James Wokeslop just plagiarized them. It was my introduction to the whole thing, and my introduction to internet cafes. That was a really fun summer, probably the top 5 summers of all time, ever.
HoMM2/3 - hotseat vs friends, while we played Halo, whatever wrestling/football game, DDR (if gfs came over), or watched da boss play whatever jrpg he was into that week.
Oblivion - it let me be anything I wanted, and without rules. My first power-fantasy.
Chrono Cross - first rpg, only game I'm still nostalgic over.
Chaos Theory - really cool levels and abilities.
Thief - still play them.
Fallout - I like rolling high Luck characters. I like punching and kicking people. I like gambling. I like being a ****. I like the music. I like timers. I like The Glow.
Jump Start 2nd Grade - Made me the Man I am today.

yeah it's hard, I'm the same way. First I had like RE 1 + 2 + ... Dark Souls + Sekiro + ER ... Homm 2, 3, age of wonders shadow magic, .... So all 9 games were like 3 of the same game.methoxetamine wrote: β Yesterday, 05:08I have a hard time making a 3x3 because I feel obligated to put a game from a few series that I already can't pick a favorite game from to begin with, and I also don't want to put repeats from the same series. So this isn't actually my top 9 of all time because of that. I also fall for recency bias, I know I'm playing Troubleshooter now but I need a strategy/tactics game on my 3x3 and Troubleshooter is easily my favorite out of what I've played
Ys could've been VIII, Yakuza could've been 0, and Trails SC actually means FC+SC combined but I can't put both
so yes on my list as well a lot of games could be swapped out for similar things.
yakuza 4 is good too? a friend told me to just play 0 and don't bother with the rest. trouble shooter looks
People say that just to make it less intimidating to get into a huge series, and since 0 is also great as a standalone, but there are a lot of great games in the series and if you like 0 you should definitely keep going. I like all of them to varying degrees, even the newest ones despite their issuesxXD4rk_s3pher0th22Xx wrote: β Yesterday, 16:01yakuza 4 is good too? a friend told me to just play 0 and don't bother with the rest. trouble shooter looks![]()
and @Cipher based list, Megaman X and FFT are my first 2 honorable mentions and were really hard to leave off. Megaman X would certainly be #10 if it called for it

I wish Vermintide worked on Linux. it looks good.
Many people have Arcanum on their list. You can get it for under 4 euros rn:
I almost included Red Alert 2 in mine.
This was mine before I quit gaming:
Had an unwritten rule that I'd only select one game per franchise for a more diverse ranking. Only exception being the Mass Effect trilogy.

I will regret this line-up tomorrow when I remember more cool games.

I made this a few years ago and shared it occasionally on the chart threads on /v/. I'd say it's still accurate. Every game I've put together in my top twenty I consider basically equal and could easily substitute them out with one another.

Burnout 3 was awesome. Loved playing that with my dad on the original XboxMaxlofla-32 wrote: β Yesterday, 02:39

AC3 doesn't get nearly the love it deserves. Arguably the best flight model in the series.MrTwinkls wrote: β Yesterday, 19:34I will regret this line-up tomorrow when I remember more cool games.

If you haven't, check out the English patch for the Japanese version, it has story cutscenes and so much more that had to be cut for the international release. They are essentially different games running on the same engine.
Kirby Supers Star, while a very easy game, remains the best Kirby game ever and a true gem of the SNES with excellent graphics, music and gameplay.Kolgrim wrote: β Yesterday, 20:23I made this a few years ago and shared it occasionally on the chart threads on /v/. Stop using ****** words.
Battlefront II is such an amazing game. I had to choose between that or Mount & Blade but it was a very hard decision. RIP for the original Battlefront III.
How are you liking Troubleshooter so far? I thought the story was boring and I also got bored by the gameplay by the end but I mostly enjoyed the ride and I would still recommend it to people that are both fans of tacticool games and don't mind the anime visual novel style elements.methoxetamine wrote: β Yesterday, 05:08I have a hard time making a 3x3 because I feel obligated to put a game from a few series that I already can't pick a favorite game from to begin with, and I also don't want to put repeats from the same series. Are you people using any templates or websites that make the task less jarring? I ain't editing 9 game covers.
Pretty sure this website isn't appropriate for minors. @rusty_shackleford why u no think of the children?Bhaalspawn Jr wrote: β Yesterday, 18:21This was mine before I quit gaming:

Yeah, I know. This untranslated at a time version of the game was the main reason why I learned Japanese.Cipher wrote: β Yesterday, 21:13AC3 doesn't get nearly the love it deserves. There. I downplayed the importance of the LAN era, which was maybe a mistake. Playing Counter-Strike 1.6 with friends (and later DOTA) brought immense amounts of joy into my life, even if looking back I don't consider these games to be all that great.
EDIT: Also, here's the template thing you ******* should've posted:
https://gqgs.github.io/3x3-generator/
EDIT 2: the Wolf:ET entry also includes RTCW. I consider the whole package to be my favorite shooter of all time. Were it not for Wolf:ET being such an important part of my multiplayer experience I would've replaced this entry with FEAR.
