HQ exists because there was a list being drawn up of so-called 'problematic' users who were to be permanently removed from the site. This is the reason HQ was online in such a hurry, ask any who were there, they were quite surprised at how fast it was all done. The bannings, of course, never came to fruition, I can probably make guesses as to why, but I am not a mind reader so I will leave that as an exercise to the reader.

The #1 difference is they consider Disco Elysium to not only be an RPG, but one of the greatest of all time. Fundamentally, they consider clicking on dialogue options to be the height of RPG design and should be tortured then murdered for this belief.

TLDR; the owner of Codex was sucking off a ****** that had consistently denied being a ******. When the ****** got exposed by a member of a "private" Codex chat, the owner got big mad and went full journo mode, posting cropped screenshots of the private chat to the forum at large and attempting to paint us as having coordinated something like a doxxing campaign. Several bans were handed out as a result. Shortly after the drama started, Rusty stood up HQ, and then the members of the private chat started sending out invites. We went from there.Prardenciflar wrote: ↑ Yesterday, 12:45I'm interested too, hadn't heard of RPGCodex until I found this place.Killagain665 wrote: ↑ Yesterday, 01:50just what is the story of why RPGHQ brake off from RPGCodex since I don't know. you can give me a short blurb or a link where i can read it myself.

I can't speak to "The List", it's never been corroborated, even by other members of the Codex admin team, to my knowledge. How these ******* woke losers infiltrated a discussion about a game that literally features racism, slave trade, and half-naked female-dancers in a House of Earthly Delights is beyond me. That "game" isn't worth the effort.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
The entire game is the TES V: Skyrim quest A Night to Remember set to a dystopian eurotrash world ending setting. There is one scene that if you find/take the only weapon/gun in the game you can opt to shoot them. The game plays as "an RPG" (think like "an Hero" from old 4-chan, look it up if you need more ref) from the minds of a controlling reddit forum post where there is just enough stability to be cohesive but not enough to make sense. Enough freedom of choice to get you interested but curated to the point your interest in the undiscovered burns like coals instead of a roaring fire. This is the ultimate edge experience between RPG and adventure game. Had there been a decent and simple level progression, enemies, and a dungeon/field area with better world story then, 'Hey, I got drunk and high last night and can't remember my own ******* name and the world is falling apart, literally.', which oddly enough sounds like what I would do if the world was falling apart literally thank you very much. So is it "an RPG" yes (pull the trigger), but is it a RPG? No. It is to artsy fartsy of a story at times and the story takes economics to heavily at times when it really needs to just stop and look around at what is happening in the world instead. But I wouldn't look at a USSR Russian flick from the perspective of a die hard capitalist (which I am not) and call it crap just because they make a jabs at capitalism where ever they can. There is still all the other parts and they might be **** too, but they might not be **** either. It is why Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 even had a chance at being moderately successfulPrardenciflar wrote: ↑ Yesterday, 13:50Lol. Pretty late on this, but Nexus Mods lists that LoreRim has a pronouns mod in it. I remember first finding about that stupid mod in the Tuxborn mod list. I was looking for a Steam Deck relevant mod pack, but that was a red flag and I refused to install it after that.Niggler wrote: ↑ June 17th, 2026, 13:02I already had around 1k hours in Gate to Sovngarde and always wanted to upgrade to LoreRim until I saw this.

Just sounded like you were propping up the ****** that denies being a ****** here and then gets called out and suddenly Rusty is named with a new site after the old site owner was embarrassed about getting called out being with the ****** and started kicking everyone out (but not really? getting confused there but that doesn't matter so much to me) and it is not a HUGE leap of logic to put Rusty as the ****** that doesn't want to be a ******. Hmmm. I think I see. Context: Rusty owned the "private chat", it was set up with permission from the Codex owner. I was part of the chat at the time, as were most of the oldest HQ members. Rusty and the people in the private chat were who got attacked. Rusty also copped a Codex ban out of the hubbub at some point, which has long since been lifted.Killagain665 wrote: ↑ Yesterday, 17:52Just sounded like you were propping up the ****** that denies being a ****** here and then gets called out and suddenly Rusty is named with a new site after the old site owner was embarrassed about getting called out being with the ****** and started kicking everyone out (but not really? getting confused there but that doesn't matter so much to me) and it is not a HUGE leap of logic to put Rusty as the ****** that doesn't want to be a ******. I think that was the straw that broke the camels back in everything he said, and that is great. I have never played FO76 and never will. The idea of a world with no NPC's (think that changed at some point, don't care it is written off in my head) and pay for massive advantage/win mechanics isn't a MMO I want to play and if someone else wants to and like it, good for them. I call it crap, they call it gold. I am more interested in Monsters & Memories and have lurked your discussions about that pretty hard and am waiting for a more open sign up. Anyway I am running on. RPGHQ is a no gang up zone that isn't pro gay or investor slop gaming, but if you loved that little psuedo-itemcraft/RPG wanna be game then fine, no one hates you for it, trash is trash, but glad you had fun with it. RPGHQ's adventure guild is prime what it means. Each month you play a new RPG(boarder line in some cases) and talk about random bits you liked/didn't like. And read what others had to say about it. A book club for RPG's.It felt like an informal, stifling form of censorship that everyone would dogpile people who played games that weren't popular with the forum's users and therefore discourage discussion about them.
