I hope they do, but I know they'll ruin it so at the same time I don't. Darkstalkers is notorious for a game where ppl spam a broken move over and over again. That's what I don't like about it. But when it comes to character design and how things look it's up there with one of the greats.Trickster wrote: ↑ April 24th, 2026, 09:49Darkstalkers (Vampire Savior) I hope it never gets a remake.

Speaking of Morigan's tits I only knew this, but never checked it out until now - but it seems Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge isn't half-bad. Looks like the perfect thing for a background video. Reminds me a bit of that Street Fighter movie where Ryu and Ken fight Bison before the credits roll.

Killer Instinct. Played the **** out of it in arcades and at home on the SNES with my little bro. I never got into KI 2 though.
EDIT: the dog ate my game contribution.

I recall this way back as a kid too, not sure if I had a copy on a console or just rented it. After looking at the roster I don't recall what character I liked to play as though.

If anyone is interested in this game, the best version is Genesis/Megadrive.anvi wrote: ↑ April 23rd, 2026, 16:59Best of the Best (aka Panza Kickboxing on PC/Amiga) lets you choose your own moves from a list of 55 kickboxing moves. The control method is interesting too. You don't need to do the usual Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat style combos. Each move is assigned to a direction and then the same directions again with a button held does different moves. It gives 13 moves. So it's easy to play but hard to master. I like that it is real fighting too, no hadooknes and stuff.
I also used to play a lot of MK4 ages ago. I was a bit obsessed with it, used to take out all my anger in that game. I'd like to play more fighting games but they take a long time to get good at and none of them grab me enough. I wish there were more realistic fighting games.
MUGEN, I missed the good old y2k when the internet was still full of creative communities creating free contents instead of the brown, enshittificated reality we have now.
This video got recommended to me and it's a really solid one + very information dense for just 15 minutes.
If you aren't familiar with any of this it could be overwhelming to keep track of what's happening on the screen and the explanation that's given in the subtitles, but regardless of that I still consider it a good watch.
A lot of awesome techniques and mechanics are explained in good detail here. It's all shown in a very neat manner too going from simpler to harder ones. To people unfamiliar with 3rd strike that are thinking "Man, this **** is busted. Why is it even in the game?" - this stuff isn't easy to execute. It requires good technical skill of play, achieved by hours of practice and a lot of match up and technical knowledge of the game.
What I like most about fighting games is that the difficulty scales with your opponent. And the skill cap specifically in 3rd Strike is insanely high, just by the parry system alone. It's a joy to watch two top players go at it in a best of 3 or a best of 5 series. And it's even more fun to push yourself to the limits trying to beat a guy you've been doing practice matches for the past weeks or even months, creating a rival in the whole process of practicing.

Sorry buddy, forgot to get to you about this. KI is definitely a favorite as I've used some songs from it on the LP. Top 5 for sure. Here's a story from when I was a kid playing this on SNES and before little bro was born. I was playing this one day maybe grade 5 or 6 and I was playing as Cinder, can't recall who I was against but I remember mashing punches and directional presses and such as the enemies healthbar was low and I did the "Brutal/Ultra" combo of like a 3 dozen hits or whatever and it sent him flying and yelled "ULTRAAAAAAA!". I remember it to this day man. Only character I did it with by pure random. Also a tie in bonus story: Was playing with my dad as kid on MK1 and he was Kano and I think I was Sub or Scorpion. He beat me and pressed random things and did the heart rip out Fatality on me. I was in pure awe and asked him how he did it, but he maintained for years that it was just random controller presses lol.Kalarion wrote: ↑ April 25th, 2026, 01:22Killer Instinct.
