I hope one day you put out mod for companions (looks) as add on for RR. I use some from "Better Companions" mod, but for example, Minthara is broken (her face is black during cutscenes). I think author no longer works on that mod. Definetely want to slim down Karlach to BT1 (currently using sweet karlach) mod even though is a bit broken. I hope by end of year you put out RR 5.0. with proper Githyanki look. Honestly, with RR, de girl boss, No alphabets and whiter mod; alongside 400 others that I insatalled - mostly bug fixes, flavor, and similiar, the game to me is perhaps my favorite of all time, and I have been gaming since 1997. Yes, BG1 and 2 have far better story, but graphically they are simply "old", and BG3 to me looks pretty great on my 1440p. I donated some money a while ago to support you, because you really earned it with this. Cheers
Definitely something we want to do, TBDbardmonk wrote: β April 23rd, 2026, 17:33I hope one day you put out mod for companions (looks) as add on for RR.
@lexo1000 made a Companions mod that uses RR color conventions that you can check out in the meantime:
Immersive Companions Appearance 1.7 β Baldur's Gate 3
Do you mean Lae'zel or Githyanki in general? They had some updates in v3.0:bardmonk wrote: β April 23rd, 2026, 17:33I hope by end of year you put out RR 5.0. with proper Githyanki look.

I read somewhere on this very forum, maybe even when you rolled 3.0 that you gonna update githyanki heads sometime in future. Sorry for not being specific. Maybe I misunderstood.
OH right, Gith heads. I keep forgetting about thatbardmonk wrote: β April 23rd, 2026, 18:07that you gonna update githyanki heads sometime in future. Sorry for not being specific

For gith heads replacer, are you guys wanting them to be beautified and less alien, or is there something else you guys wanted for Gith heads? @bardmonk I don't recall the Gith heads being as egregious as elves

def beautified because Larian managed to make an already ugly characters even more ugly. just don't give them those painted green lips pleaseloregamer wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 00:15For gith heads replacer, are you guys wanting them to be beautified and less alien, or is there something else you guys wanted for Gith heads? @bardmonk I don't recall the Gith heads being as egregious as elves
didn't like gith hairs too, that mohawk-like abomination male gith (RR Orpheus too) have is one of them. ok, it's fantasy, gith magic hair sprays sponsored by Vlakith and all that, but it's still looking ********

Making them closer to TSR's take on githyanki could be a start. Perhaps this blog post could be of help as well.
Particularly in terms of their worn fashion. Githyanki were famous for wearing colourful, baroque inspired weapons and armour: elaborately decorated with feathers, pearls, beads, gems, and similar precious shiny trinkets. But in BG3? It all comes down in two flavours: tin can metallic and BDSM belt leather. Atrocious... *sigh*

There is a "more humane" gith head for lae'zel: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/21477
I dont know if it would be too much but I personally use it to make that larians frog not so disgusting.

Strongly disagree. I can't exactly pinpoint in what way, but this game has so generic and "californian view of middle ages" art-style, that having beauty models as a companions appearance would made it has at least something.Oyster Sauce wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 10:27Melias wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 09:57There is a "more humane" gith head for lae'zel: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/21477

For example here, if somebody could make mandible less wide in "after" version, this would look better, I would even say good.

Well, I already got enough aliens in real life. The streets looks like an arab-daddy yankee music videoclip. Let me atleast be free of ugly animals and humanoids in a fictional videogame.Oyster Sauce wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 10:58Truly awfulFaceless_Sentinel wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 10:51Strongly disagree. I want them to still be alien (yellowish skin), but not ugly, a bit more beautified, but still alien.loregamer wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 00:15For gith heads replacer, are you guys wanting them to be beautified and less alien, or is there something else you guys wanted for Gith heads? @bardmonk I don't recall the Gith heads being as egregious as elves
I'm against making them prettier -- if anything, they're way too bland and human looking as is. Don't get why some of the fuckers here want to turn everything into anime blowup dolls.loregamer wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 00:15For gith heads replacer, are you guys wanting them to be beautified and less alien, or is there something else you guys wanted for Gith heads? @bardmonk I don't recall the Gith heads being as egregious as elves

Nah, it's been well established that githyanki are hairless yellow monkey astronauts from Planet of the Apes.
So basically there's no consensus on how Githyanki should look
Jingle Jangle Jingle
if i were RR modder I'd just start by stealing some decently looking non-vanilla heads (like Jerinski gith heads) and then improvise from here if there's no sole opinion for now. surely no one would protest if gith get less Oblivion-like facesloregamer wrote: β April 25th, 2026, 07:24So basically there's no consensus on how Githyanki should look
Agreed. I like how (alien) the githyanki look with the currently made changes by RR. I would not like to see them changed further, though if it was modular and optional, that wouldn't be a problem of course.FMLS wrote: β April 24th, 2026, 18:23I'm against making them prettier -- if anything, they're way too bland and human looking as is. I like these two pictures.
They look kinda reptilian, though, so that might be a bit off from the "they're aliens" concept.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
Figured I'd mention, the concern about making them look more monstrous is that it'll require custom Blender edits. RR Heads is a collection of Nexus Mods head packs (usually with like 40 bad heads and a few good ones) compiled into one mod, IDs changed to override vanilla ones, and with tweaks to their materials and mesh by us.
There's surrely an endless sea of Beautified Gith heads that we can yoink, but none that look like the monstrous Gith photos. We'd basically need to do them from scratch
If anybody is experienced in Blender and good at modelling, feel free to lemme know. I am only semi experienced in Blender and did minor tweaks to head meshes

It's the scaly/warty spots making them look like kobold halfbreeds. Not a fan of those, myself. They'd look better without those.logincrash wrote: β April 25th, 2026, 12:02They look kinda reptilian, though, so that might be a bit off from the "they're aliens" concept.
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but the pre-WotC designs are holding up the best even to this day. King Kong would be so proud of this lot:

Also forgot to mention, yeah this would be an optional addon, though now I'm thinking it would need two variantsReichspepe wrote: β April 25th, 2026, 09:57I would not like to see them changed further, though if it was modular and optional, that wouldn't be a problem of course.

Just a quick question:
Is it safe to replace RR Aesthetics 4.0 with the latest 4.1 in the middle of a playthrough?
Cheers.

Yeah, RR is a pretty safe mod to update or install mid playthrough.Bhaalspawn Jr wrote: β April 25th, 2026, 16:11Is it safe to replace RR Aesthetics 4.0 with the latest 4.1 in the middle of a playthrough?
I've got v4.2 coming out later today though, so maybe you can hold off on that

Do I still need the dignify mods or did RR 4.0 integrate that?
