I just made an account here to thank you for all your hard work. I have yet to aquire the game, as any game that features a scholar on the front cover naturally makes me apprehensive about even playing the game, let alone purchasing it. Based on the existence of your efforts and better aethetics mod, it appears my concerns are not unfounded.
E g. A little boy, sounds like a boy, acts like a boy but has ginger braids and freckles like a girl. I just changed his face and hair to match his boy voice. I found three ***** looking kids in total. Nothing mentions they are ***** just the hairstyle and gender that they are called doesn't match
The wokeness in the game isn't that bad. Mild compared to other games. You can tell from the list. Pathfinder would take an essay long list imo.

In all fairness though, boys have freckles too. The braids are... eyebrow raising though, depending on hairstyle.
I know. But the whole appearance together obviously screamed GIRL! But it was very obviously a boy speaking. You can check the two kids at the fountain outside Sorcerer's Sundry. Its blatantly obvious what they were going for.

Ok, I had to look into this one because even I didn't believe they'd do something this strange. It's a young Asian girl, named Ch'kk'ch, with red hair and blue eyes, a deep Cockney boy's accent, and a man's shirt unbuttoned down to her navel. To make things even weirder, her white human mother is also standing there and looks nothing like her. I have to assume this was some randomized appearance fuckery.

And yes, it is always, always incredibly in your face. Because if any of these ******** were actually passing then you wouldn't notice and a sane (relatively speaking) person wouldn't start a conversation with "Did I mention that I used to have a ****?".

He doesn't look that asian to me. His non asian features more obvious in his tainted form as well. His eyes are blue to begin with. You getting waaay too sensitive.

Especially in this game it's ridiculous, companions are absolutely starting to flirt with my character, I don't ever get a chance to avoid this completely -- it WILL happen. I can only say no to actual romance, but it's not enough.

Right. I'll play a bit more and get to that area and then change him. I like to think of my Astarion as a perfectly straight but flamboyant man who only has eyes for my pc. I actually need a snippet of Sebastian's dialogue to find his voice lines.

I think the writers are bad at math because 7000 people are a lot. And 7000 vampires even more so. Killing them is unethical, keeping them sealed is cruel and unethical but releasing them is potentially dangerous. I really hope Astarions "siblings" can keep them under control in the underdark.
Sebastian's got 88 lines and a lot of breathy crybaby nonsense that AI struggles with. Do we have a female crybaby with a lot of lines somewhere? Gonna be difficult turning this guy to female. Doesn't seem worth the effort unfortunately.

They should have been more assertive with companions being straight or not with an optional dlc to have every companion romanceable. Gale and wyll being gay make no sense to their character. Halsin was a last minute shoein for thirsty players and astarion is the obligatory bi thief you see in every crpg.

You realize that the way games are programmed it's actually easier to do this right? That's not an excuse, it's programmers and gamedevs realizing "Wait a minute, so if we DON'T check the player avatars' gender and have the NPCs flirt with them regardless of whether they're male or female we have to write less code AND get progressive brownie points? Sold!". BG3 has an issue (even acknowledged on reddit of all places) where companions start flirting with you for no reason. (Gale being the prime offender here.) They way it's supposed to work is that they don't unless you take the first step. Unfortunately it seems the gamedevs have beer goggles on and even the most innocent remark risks tripping a romance flag.
This is separate to the incredibly creepy ****** kids orinEsque found in the game. Those take more effort to put in and are just there to virtue signal. Same with the incredibly ugly vitiligo githyanki and other gender specials (I'm excluding the drag queen in the circus. A circus is supposed to be full of freaks.)

There is a mod that stops all relationships growing period. I don't think there is one targeted at just men or just women. Please remember that nexus removes everything they perceive as not worshipful of the sacred minorities.

That's actually true. Last decently written male character you could be just friends with in a Bioware game was Alistair I believe. Oghren was fun too though. Coincidentally this was also the last game where bisexual companions were the exception rather than the rule.
And I just made myself sad because I realized that I can still recall the character names of the first name but barely any of the other games' characters. Except Inquisition but that might be because it's more recent?

Yeah, they should. Honestly Wyll might be the most boring character in any recent game I ever played. I think they were so scared to have the black guy show any kind of flaw that he turned into some kind of borderline Rey character. Luckily he's not the protagonist (unless you pick him as an Origin and ew, why would you?).
Halsin was put in for multiple reasons according to the devs. Your reason (reddit was ridiculously horny for the buff elf), the fact that the scrapped compaion Helia would take too much time to put in and the fact that Halsin's involvement in the plot meant you only had to do a few (very few ) things in Act 3 to change him from a camp follower to a companion.
So it's more extreme laziness combined with bad time management.

Quelenna in act 1 carries a love letter from Alexander.
I wanted to change Sebastian, but the voices I have trained come from female NPCs that don't have many "crying" and "whining" voice lines, so the AI is coming up with garble. There's 88 lines as well. Tough that one. Will have to skip him for now.
Pretty much cleared my list of lesser NPCs now. Enjoy!
