Souls-Sloppa
New thrilling gameplay. On a more serious note the sounds for that enemies swings are good. I appreciate the detail of the sound of planks of wood breaking due to the sheer impact.
I finished it too (and NG+) and had a lot of fun with it, I kinda wish I waited for the DLC though so I could play it all at once without getting rusty. I'm going to go back and finish 2 soon. Admittedly I stopped paying much attention to the story especially in the later half so I didn't notice the *** questW1llus wrote: ↑ March 4th, 2026, 23:48I beat Nioh 3 and over all it's a good game. Yes I'm saying this despite the obvious DEI rot that has infected either Team Ninja or Koei Techmo or both. The open field levels (there's 3 total) are inoffensive and don't overstay their welcome but immediately lose their appeal the moment you start NG+ and the game reverts back to how older Nioh games handled their levels. The guardian spirit selection this time around is poor compared to Nioh 2 and the armor set variety is also less compared to Nioh 2. To get the woke **** out of the way type A/B in character creator and the omnyo outfits were censored including Fukus. Strangely female yokai are completely uncensored. There's a quest that involves helping the ghost of a gay dude and its revealed at the end his lover was actually a dude and he was cheating on his wife to get ****** in the ***. The story is weak (not saying much) compared to Nioh 2 and it doesn't make much sense why we can customize our character when we play as an actual historical figure Tokugawa Iemitsu who fun fact in real life was a notorious homosexual and originally closed off Japan before the Perry expedition. In the niohverse this guy can instead by an Aryan white gigachad i guess who knows. Occasionally they get creative with some of the gimmicks in the levels but a big complaint for me is they often look too samey and occasionally have this either blue or purple ish haze that makes an otherwise decent looking area look kind of ugly. I'd still recommend it but honestly just play nioh 1 and 2

As always here's the relevant take aways from the video. (Btw they did show new alpha gameplay so it's worth watching)
- They have a guy who is specifically dedicated to developing Umbral within the company who is on the panel.
- Just from the new alpha gameplay the visuals look much better and a tad more colorful.
- Enemies in Umbral seem to inherit attacks based on the region you're in. For example in the fire demon zone umbral enemies have fire attacks.
- Thanks to the Putrid Mothers slow consumption of the world it has gone from the realm of the dead to the realm of the undead.
- They made significant efforts to diversify umbral to be less "samey" throughout the game unlike 2023.
- Very heavy flower and blossoming motif with both the new environments and the enemies within Umbral.
- A big focus was making Umbral was less of a chore.
- They revamped the dread system. In the OG game its a timer which increases enemy spawns the longer you're in umbral and when it runs out it begins to spawn a mini boss every so often. A big issue was players either rushed Umbral or just played the whole game in Umbral and both were not necessarily good things. Also you could cheese the mini boss and then umbral just can't do anything about you. They described the new dread system as more based on player interactions then just strictly being timer based. Umbral can now (eventually) overpower you if you're in for too long.
- They described a new thing called the Umbral "fog" which is parts of Umbral that have bled into Axiom proper. Basically this is to reduce the amount of having to manually go in and out of umbral to traverse and is tied into the over all story.
- The lead dev describes it as if Axiom is your standard souls-like then Umbral is a horror game within the souls-like
- The new Umbral environments genuinely look sick. Reminds me of visiting Root Earth for the first time in Remnant 2
- You can summon an Umbral Scythe and apparently there's other combat abilities now tied to the lamp
- Umbral stigmas are back and they made more of an effort to tie the environments in Umbral to the story in the sequel.
- They chose the Umbral ending partly because they already had a strong desire to continue to develop and revamp the system going forward.
- NG+ modifiers will be available day one with some new editions
It's been some time since I've posted partially because there's been a bit of a drought regarding news. That being said the dev teams for both First Berserker: Khazan and *Wuchang: Fallen Feathers have both disbanded. Apparently the situation with the latter studio is quite messy but I haven't looked into it. As for Lotf besides maybe seconds of new gameplay we finally got some news
As someone who's extensively played 2023 and kept up with all the news for the new game this was easily one of my biggest complaints and to see it formally addressed makes me very happy. I hope they actually pull this off. Personally since Umbral enemies can spawn in ideally they all have specialized sound ques that enemies in games like left for dead or Vermintide 1 and 2 have.

What a shame, I quite liked both of these games. Wolong was very fun in co-op.
>Lords of the Fallen
I am glad that they turned around but I am still wary because they started out woke and then undid that stuff. Though it is commendable that they do what players want. (Just wish they would improve the LOTF player models too)

Dungeons of Sundaria NOT RECOMMENDED

I may not sound like it in my posts but I am very cautious regarding the final product. These devs already ****** up once and spent years getting their prior game to a decent spot and only just made their money back. They've been very humble recently (and truth be told been humbled) from their experience with 2023 and are taking a lot of risks for this sequel.
He neglects to mention if they hadn't blown a good chunk of money on advertising and hadn't made a last second decision to switch to UE5 the game would of done better. They are saying the right things and showing us the right things for this sequel but a demo would go a long way to actually establishing trust and confidence for their next product.

Khazan dev closure hurts. It came close to Nioh quality and was better than Nioh 3 imo. Featured some of the best bosses the genre had to offer as of late.Finarfin wrote: ↑ April 15th, 2026, 20:54>dev teams for both First Berserker: Khazan and Wulong: Fallen Dynasty have both disbanded.

Didn't play Wuchang. Did anyone here play it? Everywhere else I frequent dismissed it as chinkslop though it looked like it had some novel mechanics like its take on world tendency and temu black phantoms. In a nutshell, my understanding of it is the more a player dies, the game starts to mess with player damage taken and damage output and at a certain point, an npc "invader" spawns and killing it resets the damage multiplier thing. Supposedly there are skills that play off of how deep into it you are but I didn't look into it all that deeply.
I got the names mixed up. From what i understand the wuchang team disbanded due to chinese politics or something.

Yes, it's that petty. They had to delist it in China within a couple days or something.
Would be like having to delist a game where you play as Vikings invading England because Americans are review bombing it.
[edit] it's actually bizarre how little articles mention this but if you look at comments it's easy to find. As if they were told to not write about it.

Minor news on LOTF 2 but we're now getting lore on one of the new factions and the 2 big take aways is 1. The flower tower is not a sunflower but a "bloodbloom" which directly ties into 2. Has nothing to do with whatever the new hallowed sentinel stand ins are and instead are related to a completely new group that also have a big fixation on bloodletting and grafting their armor to themselves (cool armor set btw). Marek has come out and said internal playtests are going well but I would take this with a grain of salt as it could mean anything. "So the game is only partially on fire. Nothing we can't fix!"

If this has that stupid ******* lantern mechanic in it again, you can count me out.
A few years ago, a disgruntled fan broke into Mihoyo's offices with a knife trying to assassinate Cai Haoyu and Liu Wei because Mihoyo announced that they were going to remove a planned bunnygirl skin after huge uproar from the Chinese fandom about Japanese elements.Valter wrote: ↑ April 17th, 2026, 10:41Chinese players seem to successfully boycott a lot of devs. Why?
