Do mages or rogues get anything that stupidly OP too?
I'd say that mages' power is cumulative over the game due to card stacking. Weapons are not that big of a deal for a mage but any equipment with bonuses to willpower or endurance is nice.

Completed as well.
► Show Spoiler
Pros:
- This game is pretty much an immersive sim as it allows many different styles of play and many instruments to interact with the world. Oculuses are also a fun gimmick as they act like drones basically and can be used as a weapon;
- Magic system is nice, I had some fun with experimenting on different spell compositions. Magic also provides many offensive, defensive and quality of life (light, water walking, lockpicking, etc...) options. Altar and trap spells are also somewhat unique. Effects of some combinations are not intuitive though;
- Summons are much more powerful than in the first game;
- I like how different pieces of equipment look. They are simple yet tasteful.

Cons:
- No charismatic OST of the first game;
- Open world is not so open. Many places are locked until the related quests are taken. It heavily discourages exploration. I don't remember such problems in the first game;
- Pozz. Not as bad as in modern games but still noticeable. Homosexual relationships are featured in some side quests and there's also feminist undertones in some parts. Again, don't remember anything like it in the first game.

I think that Two Worlds could compete with Bethseda's game with better worldbuilding and open world but these aspects seem worse than in the first game. I enjoyed the first game a bit more but I had some fun with TW2 as well.

While we're at it, I'd like to do a little survey for anyone interested in the next month's nomination to get broad preferences. What subgenre of RPG would you like to see? Do you prefer older or newer games? Do you prefer obscure or well-known games?

I vote for games I haven't beaten already. I prefer if it isn't something that everyone and his brother has played, like Mass Effect or Skyrim.

I explored so many dungeons only to find myself redoing them again because of quest-locked content :mad: Just make it inaccessible for obscure reasons **** you devs. There were a few games that acknowledged your trailblazing efforts and let you fully explore all aspects of a dungeon, even doing quest-related tasks or getting quest items. Then when you'd get the quest, you'd just go "Oh you want me to get you this quest item I got right here? :eyebrows: ". I find that philosophy much more preferable and healthy for an open-world game.

There's also one more thing: what do "companion" quests for orcs do? Do they add potions before the final battle? I thought that they would fight with me.

Originally I can imagine that being true, but I can only assume they got eaten by the dragon offscreen. It was a very rushed ending.

Final Boss destroyed any love I had for this game, what a terrible way to end the game. But still, the magic was fun...and I could play as a chinaman
Two Worlds 2 is a weird start to the adventurer's guild career so kudos to you. You can now nominate a game for the next month.
Unless it's gay crap, then don't.

You have to decide. Palate cleanser or Wizardry 9.

While I do have much less mainstream games to recommend, I just find the Mass Effect experience to be incomplete without going through the entire trilogy.

Barring the changes in gameplay, they're like 3 parts of the same, grand overarching adventure following the same main character and the same end goal.

would this qualify as a game for the Adventurer's Guild? If so, I nominate it. It has been sitting in my library for quite a while.

It advertises itself as "Weird West legends meet eldritch horror in BLOOD WEST, an immersive stealth FPS."

I've played this game. Thought it was pretty good but it's not an rpg, even less than Darksiders. Make of that what you will. The dlc isn't as good tho.
As an aside, there is a bait and switch in the opening cutscene that I think filtered a lot of people; it sets itself up as some wokeshit muh huwhyte man ruined the land and it's their fault it's all ****** nonsense but that's not really the case. I know there was a review posted here and I'd imagine that it was touched on there but just know that it's not some leftist white man apologia ritual to the red man.

You made a rule against that. Most people wouldn't assume that October 10th is after October 10th.

Badges can be earned at any time, but if you get yours during the month the game was voted for for you can nominate an RPG released after 10/10/97.

Has to be the European version of Fallout 1 then.

Started Pirates of the Flying Fortress DLC. It's fun so far, loved the side quest "Organ Exchange for the Undead" - reminded me of one Oblivion mod that heavily features necromants and the undead.

The DLC that released later is terrible/unfinished
Pirates of the Flying Fortress is the only one you should play iirc

That's... unexpected, seeing as they had the gall to also sell these as standalone games on Steam

Question, the attack values on specifically staff weapons, do those only apply to its melee attacks? I haven't really been paying attention to gear at all, information on this game is nonexistent, and the unhelpful manual is, well, unhelpful. Not that it really matters since all my problems so far have been solved by summoning water monkeys and dropping anvils.

Seems like a spell's damage is determined only by its card. Staffs can be useful if you get out of mana though.

Finished PotFF - it's a decent DLC with plenty of bosses and new powerful equipment. Overall, it's more of TW2 in a new location.

Did I miss something or is the starting premise kinda nonsensical? Suddenly you're captured by some pirates and don't even question your immediate status as a servant, immediately go "sir, yes captain sir!". Quite jarring after I just killed a dragon in the main campaign. Thought the new enemies are fun so far, including that quest you mentioned.

On another note, what's with these expansion campaigns and their feverish need to throw you all the overpowered items and loads of XP? Same thing with Dragon Age Awakening. A couple hours in already got like 5 levels or some ****, can barely care to choose what skill I'm gonna max out next.

Yeah, it's a thing. The plot is not the strong part of the game. The rest of the story is pretty okay though.

It's a rather short DLC so I think they just wanted to pamper players a bit. The bosses for me were still more difficult than in the original game so I think it was balanced. But I'm a mage, a warrior may have different experience.
