Introducing Downvoting
Why not just make it so people can spend 10bux to give users new avatars and titles that they can't remove just like SA?
I just use loregamer's avatar replacer userscript. Really handy:Tweed wrote: β March 19th, 2026, 16:52Why not just make it so people can spend 10bux to give users new avatars and titles that they can't remove just like SA?

Works really well, saves my eyes for when/if people use gross avatars.

Same, it seems like the right thing to do
That's why I said he should restrict it only to trusted agents. In fact, I think he should give all the responsibility to me personally.Breathe wrote: β March 19th, 2026, 15:58When a forum does this it inevitably changes how the forum operates. Now instead of each person having the same amount of power, it becomes majority rule. Unfavorable opinions (decided by the group) are downvoted, despite whether they are true or not, or need to be heard, lessening the strength and value of the individual and ultimately hurting the site. This will be used to wield power by those who suck up to mods/admins and by mods/admins themselves. I have no problem with Rusty deciding what he wants as it is his site, but this extends the power down and invites those who conspire to get more of what they want.
I am against having a voting system, as it is always manipulated one way or another. I do however want country flags to be shown.

Platinum makes your posts immune to downvotes.
How would your opinions change about people if the country of origin were to be shown?
Would you be dismissive of posts as soon as you see the country of origin, or would it help you to gain insight and context as to what the poster is saying?

Democracy has been instated.rusty_shackleford wrote: β March 19th, 2026, 05:01I've been reading your recent feedback, and you're right β there needed to be a better way to deal with low-quality posts beyond just reacting with Disagree and moving on.
Starting today, all posts now have a Downvote button. If a post's score drops below the threshold, it gets collapsed by default. You can still click to expand it if you really want to read it, but you won't have to see it cluttering up the thread anymore.
We'll be watching how this plays out and adjusting the threshold if needed. If something feels off or you think the cutoff is too aggressive (or not aggressive enough), let me know.
Thanks for pushing on this one.

Although I don't see the downvote button, so it was all a lie.
