Possible, but I also think it is related to US politics and the type of people that make those games. "Folks" is the woke replacement word for "guys" as in "hey guys". Probably a bonus for them to 'culturally appropriate' it from the flyover states.

I think this should be researched extensively, maybe there is something more to this phenomenon, or something really important we should know
