My personal view is it's fine to play a game with a female MC (some stories are told from that perspective), without wanting to BE her. The character is someone ELSE.
It's troonish if you're CREATING a female character as some "feminine" version of yourself. No different than a fursona or something equally as degenerate.
(The "I don't like to stare at a male ***" crowd are also part of this and very sexually unstable. God forbid what is going through their heads as they walk down a street in RL!).
Female MCs become a problem when it goes "woke" with girlbossing yass queen, male belittling ********.
Once again I played Perfect Dark just fine as a kid without EVER seeing myself as Joanna Dark. Just as I didn't think I was James Bond when playing Goldeneye lol.
It requires a significant level of psychological instability for someone to begin identifying themselves as a character within a game. People who attempt to model their real-world behavior on video game characters are exhibiting maladaptive responses to stimuli.
The Coomers that Rusty refers to who became ******** are Autists or mentally deficient in some other way to begin with.
It takes a mentally ill person to have this impulse.
The fact that ******* cannot handle such stimuli from a game has nothing to do with the game itself and has no implications for the 99.9%+ of the people who play such games without experiencing some kind of psychological breakdown.
