I love it. Standing tall with mailed fist on breast is the perfect pose for a Paladin

I guess J1M would have been cool with sword out and an enspell effect or something like that; but I like the quiet dignity.

@WhiteShark should of been displayed in his leather bondage straps.

Shillycat is definitely the best. Standing in the middle swinging xer's hands in the air. :turtle:

I recently picked this up to try it out.

It's a solid replica of the classic FFXI experience with a couple QOL xp enhancements, although its still a massive XP grind.

The group hasn't played since December of last year. We killed the Shadowlord and beat the base game's story, then we got 80% of the way through Rise of the Zilart and reached Sky and we were levelling up in the mid 60s, and then during December scheduling conflicts happened and some people decided that they had spent enough time on the game (we had played about 300 hours together over 5 months). So I continued on alone PUGging and reached level 75, and then joined a PUG to beat the final boss and complete the RotZ story. And then that has been pretty much it ever since. Back then, Shilitron still expressed an interest in playing (not sure how he feels about that now or what his schedule is like), so maybe we could reboot the group.
Let me know then, last time I played this game I had completed the requirements to be blue mage but due to time had to stop playing and left myself desiring to try it out

Would be glad to lend support if I have time
I still have Horizon installed and would be willing to fire it up and go through the game with you, though the more the merrier so I'll bump the FF11 thread and see if we can get more people interested.

Depends the day, 5 PST is not any bad for weekends though I wouldn't be able to play for long, 5 hours at max (not like we gonna play more than that lol :bounce:)

2 or 3 PST would be nice for any day in general, those hours are usually fine for me.

Here by 5 PST if it's not a weekend I'm either cooking, taking a bath or already sleeping  but I could make space for a friday or saturday just to play.

Horizon by default has custom music overriding the default music. To turn it off, you have to open the launcher, click settings, click Pivot, and toggle off Horizon XI music.

Most of the setup stuff is in the OP. If you log on then ping me since I am parked in the San D'oria inn, and I can come running to help.

I would recommend browsing what the animations for the different races looks like online before you pick a race, since you can't race change and you might be staring at those weapon poses a lot. I think they added a barber a while back so at least that can be changed. There is also this page that shows all of the ingame faces (the character creator models do not correlate to what you see ingame).

Getting to level 10 on any jobs you intend to try is a good solo activity and decent source of gil (so equip a signet).

After level 10 you want a party.

I am logged in right now. I can give you the linkpearl to join the shell, and also help you with whatever. Don't need to be level synced to do the orcish axe farm, and I could probably help you blitz through the early levels too.

I remember trying to level up alone outside of Jeuno (was it called that? The one with chocobos) while I was like level 20, think enemies were at my same level.

Got my *** beat haha.

Yeah it's set, I'll level up till then and let you guys know unless I request Val's assistance beforehand.

Ah I can't now, game still installing, but it will be soon. :bounce: Glad to have you around.

What you doing over there anyway?

San D'oria was where we decided people should create their characters so we could all meet up and play together right from the get go and do the mission nations together, since it takes upwards of 45 minutes to hike to the other cities on foot (assuming you don't aggro higher level mobs and get killed and respawn at your city and have to start the hike all over again), so we were based there a lot. During the midgame when people weren't joining as much anymore and everyone still playing had gotten through the nation missions to reach Jeuno, we were based in Jeuno, but then towards the end we were able to climb on to the ladder and start growing tree saplings in our San D'oria apartments to sell for money, so we wound up being based in Sandy again.

If it was outside Jeuno they definitely weren't at your level, the mobs in the Jeuno-adjacent zones are all low-to-mid 30s. And yeah they're from some of the more vicious families.

I've forgotten most of it, but it was somewhere near there... I think you're right, I remember the trek to Jeuno when me and my friends were like level 10

We had to ask an higher level player that was passing by to guide us lol

I rarely see you post anything Kalarion, you're cool :pipe-hat:

anyway, anyone getting this thing?

Yes, usually it meant that I had gone LD and my character hadn't yet been kicked from the server. You can check the online status of your characters from Horizon's site.
