The Inquisitor is very blasphemous with that sort of description. But some of the other games seem decent.

I actually skipped over the description and added it based on the images
From a quick read, it looks like a fedora-tier "wow, what if jesus was mohammad?" interpretation by someone too scared to make fiction based on mohammad.

This one looks interesting:

Hopefully it will let me shoot lots of commies.

Have no idea about this last one honestly, but the art looks neat. Remains to be seen if there's actual substance beneath the glitter.

EDIT - added a few more titles:

I think this one uses the Syrian Warfare engine (and if you haven't played Syrian Warfare, be sure to do so):

Yeah, this is based on a series of Polish novels (and one of two blasphemous Polish games coming out soon!). Apparently Christianity just becomes a proto-Islam in those books.

I've been following this for a while. The demo is newly updated today, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm a little suspicious because the sides are "Capital" and "Labor" which makes me think it might ultimately be a commie game...

I've played this demo on and off for a few months. It's the closest thing I've seen to MissionFront:CyberStorm in a while. But the game roadmap shows it's not supposed to release until 2025 at the earliest.

I really don't see the point of this. The current HD remasters are fine (maybe not on 4K?), and I cannot see any differences in the graphics in their videos. What I would really like is a Stronghold (or Crusaders) remake with some updated production chains but without any of the stupidity they've added since Stronghold 2. (Legends is okay, though.)

The main inspiration is the Front Mission franchise, so if this scratched the Cyberstorm itch you could try looking into those games. The first game got a rerelease on Steam recently, the second game will be releasing soon in the West for the first time, FM3, 4 and 5 are easily emulated.

Neither did I until they announced the game would feature an additional campaign. It's an obvious cashgrab, but I'm not going to begrudge more classical Stronghold missions, especially since I have no plans to buy the game until it hits a deep discount.

The Thaumaturge is a story-driven RPG with morally ambiguous choices, taking place in the culturally diverse world of early 20th century Warsaw. In this world, Salutors exist: esoteric beings that only Thaumaturges can truly perceive and use for their needs.
The game opens with two tsarist soldiers trying to mug you for your shoes, you punch them to death then find a piece of commie propaganda you can read right behind them

This is exactly how it opens without exaggearation btw

The guy skips it, but you can see it at 13:04 there's a new interactive to the top-left of where the character is, it's some commie propaganda text.

Just finished playing the demo. All in all it feels pretty solid, and a good homage to Build-engine games. Weapons are your standard fare, but they feel and sound good, level design is neat, with a lot of looping and opening up paths back to previous areas, and with plenty of secrets.

On the "meh" side is that it feels a little slow, it has that irritating quirk of many FPS where the starting weapon becomes completely useless as soon as you get another weapon, and the protagonist lacks any charm whatsoever - it's just another 20XX tough **** wannabe sprouting stale lines. Also, it still relies on hunting down cards and then remembering where to use said cards instead of something more involved and substantial.

Still, much more enjoyable to play than Ion Fury.

Oh, and I forgot, at one point you can actually play a "fully" featured space shooter on an arcade machine. Was a neat detail and makes me wish the level had even more (pointless) interactivity.

Tried the demo tonight and this is very bad. Even with the long change to Godot, I wouldn't hold out hope.

Yeah, it needs an absolute fuckton of work. But did you see the early Rimworld beta? As bad.
I'm expecting it to take a couple of years.

I found this one today, a wuxia-themed "klan clan simulator" - base building and dungeon crawling. They say it will have an English translation, but it doesn't look like that exists in the demo yet, so who knows.

And I KNOW some of you will be excited about this next one!!!

Oh, nevermind, it says Pape.

Some semi-interesting RPG demos for the current Next Fest:

Atelier Isometric

Visual (RPG) novel

Another Grimrock edit: Dungeon Master clone its single char

And some 3rd person, single-character Action RPG. Not sure if it tries to be more Witcher or Gothic.

Would love to see a Myth: the fallen lords styled mecha game but with persistent units and a quality of storytelling to rival it.
New Western Mech IP's just don't care to try as hard as the Japanese with cool mech designs first and foremost like Mechassault did. No silly **** or wannabe tanks. Just a simple and straight forward customizable system with a few different part variants for each section of the mecha. Which I know is asking too much from the ban happy **** on the indie scene that I don't support out of principle now.

This is from the same guy who made Warbanners (good).

I didn't care for the first demo, and it was very unoptomized, but that was a year ago I think.

World War 1 version of Signalis, demo was solid and had a nice atmosphere and you actually dreaded encounters with german soldiers.

ATOM Devs, haven't played it yet but looks promising.

Think it's from ****** but also looks interesting.

Very cool bullet hell twin stick shooter, title might be generic but game looks unique in presentation.

"roguelike" is the most dogshit way to describe a genre either. "Rouge" conjures to mind a thief character being the only class in the game with a cutthroat playerbase.
Not the actual mechanic in practice which is randomized core gameplay elements.

As cringe as "metroidvania" and other terms are, at least they accurately describe a game with a linear story + optional backtracking.

But a true roguelike (not roguelite though) is accurately describing what it is: a game based on Rogue, which then implies all of those randomized elements, permanent player death, no incremental advancement between runs, etc.

A more correct genre name would probably be Nethacklike tbh. I'm referring to actual Roguelikes, which tbh, are rarely made anymore.
