Guess people who even care for this can expect something like Cyberpunk again. Only played the free demos of gta1/2. Most games in the current time dont interest me. Guess thats why I at least finished mafia2 when that came out. And yeah that installsize no way I will ever play this. But I doubt pc release will be out before 2027 even if they manage to release next year. They will try to double/tripple dip sales again.

1 and 2 were mad fun imo, I played the **** out of them as a kidXenich wrote: ↑ November 7th, 2025, 23:01I only ever tried the first one on PS1 when it came out for like... a few minutes before moving on.
The later ones never interested me, but then I never cared for console games much and ******/thug pop culture never really sat well with me.

Why, just why use this kind of design; don't big gaming corporations employ high-level analysts extrapolating from big data to predict the most optimal consumer demand? Don't they have gamer test groups and shite? Like lets say that design led to just 5 percent of profit drop; isn't that against corporate governance rules/law and shareholders can sue? Or at least demand an explanation from executives?

Corporate cancer begins from the bottom up. The leftists identified institutions as the organs of power and then began infiltrating them. That's why they infiltrated academia, new media, entertainment, etc. They get their guys into the HR department, who then begin hiring other lefties and oust people who poke their head out. Over time they are able to sufficiently capture enough of what is happening on the ground floor to effectively take control. That's how you can end up with situations like the head of Disney saying they need to stop producing slop people don't like, but he has no real capability to root out the corruption on the ground floor. There is just too many of them protecting each other at that point to get all of them.roldet wrote: ↑ November 8th, 2025, 02:25Why, just why use this kind of design; don't big gaming corporations employ high-level analysts extrapolating from big data to predict the most optimal consumer demand? You have to factor in the Fink DEIbux. They literally get subsidized by Blackrock for adding ugly women, faggotry, and ******* into games. "ESG Score" isn't a meme. They may lose (X) amount of sales/profit, but when Larry gives you (X + 1) to make up for it, they're still coming out +1.roldet wrote: ↑ November 8th, 2025, 02:25Why, just why use this kind of design; don't big gaming corporations employ high-level analysts extrapolating from big data to predict the most optimal consumer demand? I think we're at the point where most corporations are not beholden to consumer demands anymore but instead have already accrued so much wealth, power and government kickbacks that they instead make products that fit the wants of shareholders (stakeholders), other corporations and governments now. For games like this it's about "the message" to be installed in the next generation of useful idiots. The "modern audience" doesn't exist but they are creating the conditions for it's future existence by erasing and rewriting the past and corrupting the future.roldet wrote: ↑ November 8th, 2025, 02:25Why, just why use this kind of design; don't big gaming corporations employ high-level analysts extrapolating from big data to predict the most optimal consumer demand? Yeah but didn't that release in 2014 or something? We already know everything is woke now it's 2025. Plus ita obvious from the trailer it will be woke and disgusting, so anyone holding onto hope is just being silly.GhostCow wrote: ↑ November 7th, 2025, 22:12People have high hopes because GTAV was pretty good. It can still be done, Elon did it to Twitter (causing immense amount of uproar about how it's going to die immediately). I never really felt right playing evil/bad characters, but something about ******/thug pop culture just turns my stomach, I would rather play the "Death Wish" type of character who crosses lines of lawfulness to "Take out the Trash".WhiteShark wrote: ↑ November 8th, 2025, 00:24I played IV for a bit. Things have been "woke" for way longer than that. It just got so much more blatant that anyone who isn't a total ****** is able to see it. As for GTA V, I didn't really care much about the story but enjoyed the dialogue and exchanges between the characters. Speaking of which, Dan Houser is no longer at Rockstar so I expect that aspect of the game to take a nosedive among other things.DecadeRiptide wrote: ↑ November 8th, 2025, 05:40Yeah but didn't that release in 2014 or something? I wonder why all these open-world driving games are always about thugs and criminals roaming around the city. Why can’t we have a game like that, but this time with a cop or someone who actually wants to make the city safer? Instead of playing a ******, we would play John the cop, arresting and killing all the ******-gangs. The more he kills them, the more the city changes to a better state.

Elon Musk got laughed at for not liking playing as the bad guy in GTA games, but it's probably more common than a lot of people realize. I stopped playing AC Valhalla in part because I didn't feel comfortable being forced to ransack churches

I want a GTA-style game where you're a vigilante gunning down *******/criminals, like an open-world Punisher of sorts. I think franchises like GTA glorify amoral behavior, even if you're consciously aware that you're playing as a scumbag. I put it in the same category as shows like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, where you're pretty much forced to root for a character who's contributing to a worse society and getting good people killed for their own self-interest. So at least a game like this, while still morally grey, would have justifiable actions in it.
Yeah, sure you're gunning people down, but don't they deserve it?. Is the city better off for your actions, or worse?. A game like this would at least present that question to you, and allow you to decide for yourself.
