I hope none of these ******* ever complained about any woke games before. They are worse than SBI at this stage. SBI at least is pretty honest and straightforward in what they are doing.

If they got a kcd2 key that means they were prescreened to be cocksuckers
This is not meant to be interpreted humorously. They were all prescreened prior to getting a key.

That’s the worse part ,they have. I have find it funny how these YouTube reviewers criticize big gaming news outlets for being bought out/ paid adverts but engage in the same practices.

Many of them are too stupid to realize they're being used and actually think corporations are their buddies.

They were the outsider-looking-in on the journo/dev relationship, but are now getting the benefits of that relationship from "based" devs, whether due to willful corruption or being useful idiots. I'm inclined to the latter for most of them.

I think it's just people imagining that they have gotten a taste of gold. So many people grow up with video games as their hobby (or addiction, or as the thing they effectively worship), and people idolize game devs, and then we had the rise of youtube reviewer/personality phenomena that people have idolized and want to be like. I think getting a little bit of contact with the devs or early access makes these people euphoric, because it is everything they have grown up idolizing and thinking is the big deal (within their hobby), even though in the grand scheme of things it is meaningless. Bottom line is: don't be a pop cultist whose life revolves around products, or being a "personality" with randoms on the internet giving you thumbs up.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Celebrity worship will always be a thing no matter the era.

WAB was crying hard over not getting an early access key for a game, maybe space marine 2, so he definitely wanted back in. He throated kcd2 so hard over trivial Oblivion AI, I thought he was being funny.

What about the ones who pay for the games themselves?

I like The Lazy Peon. He's the only one who can keep me entertained in a review video.

I tried TotalBusicuit but his videos were so boring. Also he passed away from cancer so can't make videos anymore.

The problem with the LazyPeon's MMO reviews was that almost all of them were effectively meaningless. The point of an MMO is the social aspect. If you aren't there for the social aspect, then outside of the high production value long running ones WoW and FF14, you mind as well just play a singleplayer game and get a better experience. But Peon would check out an MMO for a couple hours or a few days, level for a bit with no intention of trying to make or find friends and stick around, write a review about his solo experience, and then jump ship to the next one. And then he starts bemoaning that none of these MMOs stick for him.

As for TotalBiscuit, it might be sacrilegious to some to say, but I found that he would too often be mocking games. He did it so often to the point you have to wonder why is even wasting his time talking about all of these games he apparently does not enjoy if he's just going to **** on them. At that point, why not just only talk about the games you actually like, or find another hobby? Same issue with a lot of these other Gen Y youtubers like Spoony, AngryVideoGameNerd, etc. His channel wound up becoming useless because of the sheer amount of reviews but he has such narrow tastes.

My game review system is as follows: read negative steam reviews, determine if people writing them are saying things I care about or things that are ********. If ********, try game.

Also: install game selected by Adventurer's Guild blindly and hope the input is responsive.

True. I mean he's definitely not the best reviewer but when you just want a quick look at the game I find TheLazyPeon to be ok. I think his content is more entertainment than anything, he even implies this in his YouTube channel bio. He also has a bad habit of taking crappy sponsors for quick cash but it's obvious when he does that. There are definitely better places to go

Mugthief
This guy's ok. He's earnest and not very annoying. Perhaps a tad charitable.

BigfryTV
He mostly reviews multiplayer shooters, but his takes mostly cut to the heart of the issues in the game. It helps that he's developed a game (or two).

StratEdgyProductions
This guy's... interesting. He clearly spends a lot of time on his videos. He analyzes things to granular detail, while also taking an abstract approach. Depending on your tastes, he may be insufferable.

Does anyone have an opinion on GriffinGaming ?
He condemns slop and crap when he's faced with it, even though he's slightly lenient.

(Usual recommendations: Synthetic Man, Kane's Games, Scarlet Seeker, Fleekazoid, Bellular News.

Discommendations: Vinergy, Second Wind, any channel that even looks tryhard.)

I remember seeing a clip of him where he was mocking some black dude complaining about Angrboda in God of War Ragnarok being black and not fitting to the setting. Guy had an SJW phase apparently, and it looks like he's shifted gears. So I don't entirely trust him. Might be another sort of AndyPants Gayming who's managed to slip through the cracks.
I draw pretty pictures and shieet. Seriously, I do.
