The devs are digging their graves on this one.

Instead of admitting they basically did zero optimization, they started responding to the negative Steam comments about the bad framerate with gaslighting ********.

Then they had a couple of interns cook up an "optimization" sheet for every major card using, apparently, ChatGPT or the like, because it makes zero sense if you know anything.
They have three cards with the same VRAM recommend different textures (medium textures for 3090ti, high textures for 4080, and very high for 5080). Man they must be high.
They also recommend things like anisotropic filtering be set at less than 16x, something that has maybe a 1-2fps boost in best cases on any modern card.

Absolutely mental.

There is no reason for a game that looks barely different from the original to struggle to exceed 60fps at 1080p unless it's just **** code.
They have a 2070 bottomed out and they say it should usually be 30fps. A 2070! 30fps?!?
That thing will run the earlier games at over 100 and more at max settings!

Borderlands 4 1 dollar/h programmers are just like "saar buy a 5090 saar, so you can play it at 60 fps with dlss saar"

Borderlands 3 had very solid gunplay that can be quite enjoyable but was let down with its dogshit writing and humour that made me want to throw my console out the window. From what I seen online discourse Borderlands 4 is much the same with the benefit of its writing being slightly less cringe.

Borderlands 3 becomes quite a great game once you download a max level save file, change the language to any you don't understand and start a game as Zane with all the main story completed, I just wish there was a way to skip all parts where you have to wait for an npc do something.

One of the things I wish they kept in the original game was the more subdued humour instead of learning the wrong lessons in BL2 success which was tripling down on its comedic aspects.( which is done poorly)

Lets be real BL2 was both swansong and lightning in a bottle for that shitstain that is Gearbox

Never did they reach the fame of BL2 again. And even that game was just a decent shooter with **** dialogue about farts and cocks. Handsome Jack can be argued was written well but I think its just the VA carrying hard.

but again, you gotta be willing to just ignore all story stuff and play for fun

Cooperates gaslight you into believing games are harder to run because they want to cut costs by cutting out the optimization phase in the development of games. At least that's what I believe at the minute, I don't see any other reason for it?

He was a decent coder at one time, but he's a TERRIBLE tech honcho.
Fortnite gave them too much money and the company was distorted out of reality by it.
Over 50% of your potential players are gaming on 5+ year old GPUs, and you deliberately target only the top of the hardware market with your engine, Tim?
You KNOW modding is core to gaming, yet you won't bake modding into the engine and instead tell people to "use the source code and documentation" when they petition for modding for UE5, Tim?
