Can't say I've ever seen a Gamespot review like this before. Reviewer did not finish it, claiming to be stopped by a game breaking feelings bug.

IMO, you have to do better than a game journo to earn the badge: Image
Welp, that review made me actually interested in this game now. Guess I’ll play it.

I can see the hype for this is already sky-high. But why stop there? IGN gave this game a 3/10 while also claiming that they were unable to finish it due to a game breaking bug.

Promises of adult subject matter aside, I think most people will find it interesting to see where a 2/10 game from 2015 lands for them on the 2025 "out of 10" scale.

As you may recall, 2014 was the peak of the video game industry's technical accomplishments.

Some shameless cashgrab developed in a year to surf on the Black Flag hype? Just play Black Flag bros. At least I hope you're all pirating it and not paying $30 for this garbage.
I clicked through a no commentary walkthrough and it was painful enough, I deserve the badge just for doing that.

If only that were true. Raven's Cry was announced in 2011.

Started the game and the protagonist apparently has a ****** friend :notsureif:
I don't know if the land combat is janky or I just need to get used to it. There's also sea combat but I can't say anything about it now. There's also a ship management present so I hope it's decent.

I am refunding this DRM-riddled anti-consumer piece of ****.

Image

I am NOT entering my personal info to a literally-who video game company just to be able to play a SINGLE PLAYER game that I PAYED FOR. ****. Off.

I'll just catch up with other Adventurers Guild games. Not playing this.

Is this what buying it direct from Steam gets you? I had to get mine off G2A as they weren't seeding it and I'm not paying full price. I dinnae get this notice, instead it failed to verify the CD key, so I had to replace the executable with a cracked one. Worked fine after.

I'm using my housemate's internet and do not want to get them in trouble - again. Perfectly willing to pirate, not willing to risk getting my friend in trouble over it.

Giving your address to play a game is ridiculous, just use the cracked version.

Then just put ******** info in all of the fields. Like, ****, it's 2025 and you don't have a ******** fake identity (Ben Dover) that lives at some random address (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20500) with a burner email ([email protected]) specifically for this kinds of situations?

I just put in fake registration information, and it let me through without prompting me again.

As far as the game goes, it definitely shows its age. I'm only a few hours in, but combat, map design, animations, and game systems all seem pretty standard for the time it was released. That said, half the fun that I have playing these older games is finding broken builds missed by the devs/QA team.

FYI, I went to the trouble of sinking some escort ships and whittling down the crew of a superior vessel before I boarded it, but there is no option to capture the other boat and either expand your fleet or switch ships. Seems like the only way to get a bigger ship is to buy it.

Done. **** this game, it's terrible all the way through. The only redeeming quality is BE BRAVE COCKSOCKERS. The nonces who made this shite slop need to be lined up and shot.

The biggest challenge for me so far has been opening the map. It seems to crash the game about 10-20% of the time.

Haven't had that issue. Try changing your graphics settings? I have bloom and DOF turned off.

Making the raven actually able to steal was somewhat moderately enjoyable, mostly because the AI would bug the **** out and jump off ledges afterwards. The combat dinnae matter because the enemies would always run around in circles after every two or so attacks, making a follow up ******* annoying, so I resigned to shooting or stealth in every instance I could. Not that those worked much better, but they were more consistent.

Unfortunately, the console was open 50% of the time, as important NPC's would croak, and I would have to respawn them or use god mode to avoid a 2 foot fall that would kill me for some ******* reason.
