Yes, I know, but there's nothing to imply they are significantly stronger than humans, or that their musculature differs all that much between their females and human females.
You could argue that the setting ignores sexual dimorphism in all the various (near) human races, but if we're going down that route we might as well not bother unfucking Baldur's Gate 3.
Dogs are still impacted by sexual dimorphism. They're a reasonable example to use to compare as they have also been selectively bred.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 3rd, 2025, 12:14It's like saying a male and female shitbull are equally dangerous(they generally are afaik)gerey wrote: ↑ July 3rd, 2025, 12:11That's like saying a German Shepard and a Chihuahua are equally dangerous because they have been trained to attack humans.buttfucker 3000 wrote: ↑ July 3rd, 2025, 12:02Both men and women in Gith society are raised to be ruthless and fearless killing machines.
Male dogs are still significantly more aggressive if they have not been castrated.
As for Gith, it's got to be magic anyway. Since the King of Pop race are all 5 foot nothing, and even the men are scrawny and malnourished.

Okay, but is there any bit of lore that says Gith lack sexual dimorphism?
That's the crux of the argument here. No amount of training can make a human woman into an effective killing machine, she'd get the **** beaten out of her by the first average man she came across, so why would the same not hold true for the Gith?
I guess another way to look at the argument, unrelated to all the previous discussion, is whether the girlboss in question is annoying enough to warrant being excised from the game.
I completely disagree. Her voice manages to be fierce, convey danger, and still be feminine. And her "Victory Awaits" or "Action not reaction" lines at the combat always sounds cool and epic, perfectly matching her being OP.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ July 3rd, 2025, 12:24I thought her voice was very annoying so I didn't use her
Minthara, on the other hand, is a pain for the ears.

We also enjoyed racing to see who can speak to Alfira first to break her lute. So I like to keep her as insufferable as possible. It's funny how she forgets we broke her lute in Act 2 tho....

Look at a picture of a gith male and female side by side. Their builds are extremely similar, unlike human males and females where the average male is more muscular.gerey wrote: ↑ July 3rd, 2025, 12:30Okay, but is there any bit of lore that says Gith lack sexual dimorphism?
Also, the gith are a slave race specifically bred by the illithid. Unless you want to imply that those sociopathic masterminds deliberately wanted half of their slave population unable to do actual labor despite not even having to deal with child rearing, there is no reason for significant dimorphism. In fact, the illithid have all the reasons in the world to breed dimorphism out of their slave populations, since it's an undesirable feature for their purposes. The Gith's ability to lay eggs goes specifically in that direction: the females don't spend a significant amount of time pregnant and can work more, while the eggs just lie in a pool somewhere.

Some reasonable stats rebalance maybe? Don't think it would be hard to do.

I'll give Karlach a pass due to having that engine. Halsin IMO should be old, wise, skinny, and hunched over without any bestiality desires. The gay vampire would lack strength likely due to feeding from infected patrons at gay bath houses.Trickster wrote: ↑ July 7th, 2025, 18:51Some reasonable stats rebalance maybe? A symptom of point buy and the relative lack of utility strength has for characters outside of non-dex warriors. Multiclassing alleviates some of it, like giving Shadowheart monk levels, but I’m at a point where only my paladin MC and maybe Astarion has a strength above 8 (no, Karlach is not alive). Lae’zel might get respeced from archery to greatswords.
Anyone have other character builds that fit this style and are mechanically decent?

One can play monk, set str at a minimal value, dump everything in dex and wis, take some feats for unarmed combat and throwing, find trader with giant elixirs, spam buying/stealing elixirs/money then resting, add some equipment and buffs on top to amplify punching/throwing/jumping. With this you can always have 21+ str and other high value stats, jump higher than mountains (in act 3 you can jump on any roof with 1 action), kill everything with punches solo in 1-2 turns (at some point I stopped using weapons), kill everything with throwing in even less turns. If you play shadow monk you can turn invisible at the end of your turn for maximum ********. And you can have a party of 4 of them if you respec companions or hire some and optionally make them bald.
Just respec them and remake them in your image.

These ******* often behave so aggressively and vulgarly (like Jaheira, who literally attacks us to prove how "badass" she is, and the game leaving only two choices: grovel like a soyboy loser or kill her - making violence seem like the only rational response).

Sometimes the game literally have overdoses on girlbosses. One girlboss captures you,
another girlboss rescues you a second later,
just for you going to a third girlboss who's planning to attack "helpless refugees".
There's no doubt they intentionally designed them this way: brazen, aggressive, utterly unfeminine, and somehow always in positions of power. It's like matriarchal fantasy where women aren't the exception, but rather the default ruling class. This needs fixing.
Women should be jewels in a man’s world. Not ugly caricatures of "coolness" designed by people who understand neither real strength nor what women actually are.
