I think The Expanse has the most likely chance of being successful.Humbaba wrote: ↑ June 3rd, 2025, 12:20No one's gonna buy any game based on these boomercore IPs.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ June 3rd, 2025, 11:25Guess for IP that game is based on
Stargate
Battlestar Galactica
The Expanse
Traveller
Star Trek
I would say early next year if I were to guess.
Possibly, but Owlcat said that any future IP adaptations need to be be fairly popular for growth potential and a series they like.MrTwinkls wrote: ↑ June 3rd, 2025, 12:15Even Firefly or Farscape are possible. They were in their poll.
Never heard of the series but I like the OST from the link.

Traveller or the Expanse would be pretty kino, but Owlcat would probably **** up the cool Expanse battles.
Dunno how you'd even make a Battlestar Galactica cRPG.

Owlcat's games have all been at best just OK, very middling with zero improvement.Unhelpful Contrarian wrote: ↑ June 3rd, 2025, 12:17Why not?gerey wrote: ↑ June 3rd, 2025, 12:08Yet we're not gonna get the 40k equivalent of Baldur's Gate 3.Roguey wrote: ↑ June 3rd, 2025, 11:46Owlcat is now also over 400, and given the Rogue Trader DLC and Dark Heresey, not all of them are working on this, so it's a bit less.

Already looks better than Starfield, which is such a low bar to beat but I really want a good space RPG (Mass Effect is ******* trash)

Figure it was going to be the expanse from there previous AMA’s. Trailer was ok, nothing terribly exciting since it was mostly cutscenes with some gameplay by the end, although I will give credit to Owlcat that it look better announcement showcase than Exodus.
Never been done before? An Owlcat game set in the late 16th century that follows the Roanoke English on their journey to Hatteras island, from there they board a ship back to England, only to find out they've crossed a portal into [Insert other fantasy setting here].
I'm positive this specific game has never been done before because evidence of the Roanoke colony ending up at Hatteras was only just found. https://archive.ph/sSpyl

Uh, it's been known that they went to Hatteras Island the whole time. They carved "Croatoan", the contemporary name of the island, into a wooden palisade before leaving, and although nobody got around to checking in on them there for years, the natives there were known for generations afterward to have suspiciously fair-skinned blue-eyed members. I've read books from before I was born that affirm that everyone always assumed that they went there and joined the native population.Revyscutlass wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:39Never been done before? Saying that we only just now "found evidence" of it when it's been common knowledge forever is a redditor-tier "SOURCE???" argument.

I always assumed that it was one of those things (((Archeologists))) gave the side eye until they found evidence that made it undeniable, which is supposedly what happened in that article.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:51Uh, it's been known that they went to Hatteras Island the whole time. As far as I'm concerned, the Solutrean hypothesis is the one that really scares people. loooool
There's not really a racial angle on it (especially since it involves whites assimilating INTO a native tribe) so everyone pretty much agreed and accepted it until it started to be popular to make it a "woooo mystery~".Revyscutlass wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:56I always assumed that it was one of those things (((Archeologists))) gave the side eye until they found evidence that made it undeniable, which is supposedly what happened in that article.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:51Uh, it's been known that they went to Hatteras Island the whole time. You know full well that everything that was common knowledge years ago is flagged by """official sources""" for being "against the revolution".Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:51Saying that we only just now "found evidence" of it when it's been common knowledge forever is a redditor-tier "SOURCE???" argument.Revyscutlass wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:39Never been done before? I remember learning about it in school in the 80s and even as a kid thinking that conspiracies about what could have happened to them were braindead stupid.Stack of Turtles wrote: ↑ June 7th, 2025, 21:51Uh, it's been known that they went to Hatteras Island the whole time.
